Sims 4 cheats

Press Ctrl + Shift + C while you play. A box opens at the top of the screen. Type testingcheats true and press Enter. The EA page lists these keys for PC and Mac. On a console, hold all four shoulder buttons.

This post lists the codes that EA publishes, what each code does, and one warning about achievements. We opened the EA page on October 3, 2026. We list only the codes that the page lists.

You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a browser life sim, and it has no cheats. We say where that matters.

EA says that testingcheats true turns on advanced cheats on all platforms. These cheats need a shift-click on a Sim or on an object.

Type freerealestate off to end the free homes. The console list on the EA page shows money [number] as “add specified funds”, and the PC list shows it as “set to the exact amount.” Test it on your own platform.

First type testingcheats true. Then use these. Shift-click a Sim to open the menu.

• sims.fill_all_commodities: fills all needs of the active Sim.
• stats.fill_all_commodities_household: fills the needs of every Sim in the household.
• sims.remove_all_buffs: removes all moodlets.
• Shift-click a Sim, choose “cheat need”, then “disable need decay”: stops the needs from falling.
• Shift-click a Sim, choose “Make Happy”: changes the needs of that Sim.

An object menu also has “Make Dirty” and “Make Clean”. Shift-click the ground, and choose “Teleport Me Here”, to move your Sim.

• careers.promote [career name]: promotes your Sim.
• careers.demote [career name]: demotes your Sim.
• careers.remove_career [career name]: ends the career.
• aspirations.complete_current_milestone: completes the current aspiration milestone.
• sims.give_satisfaction_points [number]: gives satisfaction points.

Replace the words in square brackets with a real name or number. For example, type the name of the career that your Sim has.

• bb.moveobjects on: removes the limits on where you place furniture and objects.
• bb.showhiddenobjects: shows items that are not available or that belong to events.
• bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement: unlocks career reward items in the catalog.
• bb.enablefreebuild: builds on locked lots. The EA page lists this one in the console section.

On consoles, EA says that you can also resize objects. Hold L2 and R2 (or LT and RT), and press up or down on the D-pad.

On consoles, yes, for some codes. EA says that any code that needs testingcheats true turns off achievements in your current save. Other saves are not affected. The build mode codes do not turn off achievements on any platform.

The EA page does not say what happens to achievements on a PC. Check the achievement list of the game if you care about them.

If you want the achievements, keep one save with cheats and one save without cheats.

The EA page that we opened lists no cheats for skills, for relationships, for age, or for weather. Players use other codes for these, and many sites list them. We did not verify them, so we do not list them.

One example is the cheat that brings a dead Sim back. We wrote about it in how to bring a Sim back to life.

If a code does not work, check three things. Did you type testingcheats true first? Did you type the code with the right spaces? Is the Sim in your household?

It depends on what you want. If you want a story, a small cheat can remove a boring step. A Sim with no money cannot afford the house that the story needs.

If you want a challenge, cheats remove it. A fast way to find out is to play one week with no cheats. Then decide.

Save before you use a code. A code can change a Sim in a way that you cannot undo. For a stuck Sim, EA lists resetSim [first name] [last name].

This part is our advice. It is not from EA. Use the codes in a fixed order, so that you know what changed.

1. Save the game. Use a new save slot.
2. Type testingcheats true.
3. Type one code. Look at the result.
4. Type the next code only after you see the first result.
5. Play. Save again.

If a Sim gets stuck, use resetSim [first name] [last name]. The EA page lists it for a stuck Sim. Do not use it on a healthy Sim.

Most failed codes have one of five causes.

• You did not type testingcheats true first, for a code that needs it.
• You left out the number or the name in the square brackets.
• You typed a space where the code has a dot, or the other way round.
• You selected the wrong Sim. The code works on the active Sim.
• You are on a console, and the code is a PC code.

The dot is a common cause. The code bb.moveobjects has a dot between the two parts. Copy the code from the EA page exactly. Then change only the words in the square brackets.

Use bb.moveobjects on on a PC. On a console, EA lists bb.moveobjects with no word after it. Follow the form for your platform.

LifeSim has no cheat box. You cannot add money, and you cannot fill a need with a code. You live one life on a real map of Earth. The people in it remember what you say.

Do I need to type testingcheats true every time?

We did not find a source on this. Type it at the start of each play session, to be safe.

Are the codes case sensitive?

The EA page writes some codes with capital letters, such as FreeRealEstate On. We did not test this.

Do cheats work in The Sims 4 on a Mac?

Yes. The EA page lists Ctrl + Shift + C for PC and Mac.
