How to take screenshots in The Sims 4
Press C on PC or Mac to take a screenshot. The game saves it in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Screenshots. Press Tab first for camera mode, which hides the interface. Press V to start and stop a video. On PlayStation and Xbox, use the console's own capture feature.

- Set up the shot. Press Tab for camera mode, which hides the interface.
- Move the camera with W, A, S, D, Q and E. Zoom with Z and X.
- Press C to take the screenshot.
- Press Tab again to leave camera mode.
- Find the picture in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Screenshots.
PlayStation
- In Live Mode, move the cursor to the camera icon at the top right to open free camera. This hides the interface.
- On PS4, hold the Share button to take a screenshot.
- The picture goes to the console's capture gallery, not to a game folder.
Xbox
- In Live Mode, move the cursor to the camera icon at the top right to open free camera.
- On Xbox One, double-press the Xbox button, then press Y to save the screenshot.
- The picture goes to the console's captures, not to a game folder.

Recording video
Press V to start recording and V again to stop. You can also click Camera Options next to the game speed controls.
Set quality in Game Options > Video Capture. EA suggests High or Not Compressed, and turning off UI Sounds so clicks are not recorded.
Videos go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Recorded Videos.
Common problems
I can't find my screenshots
Check Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Screenshots. If Windows syncs Documents to OneDrive, look in OneDrive > Documents instead.
The interface shows in my screenshots
Press Tab for camera mode before you press C.
On Mac, the system screenshot tool opens
Use the game key C. Cmd + Shift + 3, 4 and 5 are the Mac's own screenshot keys.
The game records video by accident
V is the video key. Press V again to stop. Check Game Options > Video Capture for recording settings.
