How to get the Hero ribbon in BitLife
To get the Hero ribbon, try to rescue someone yourself when a random SOS situation appears, for example a person drowning or a house on fire. Saving them and dying in the attempt both count. A successful Heimlich maneuver on a choking relative also works. It is luck-based, and no paid pack is needed.

- Take walks often. Walks are under Activities, then Mind and Body, from age 8, and the wiki says they can lead to random SOS situations.
- Age up and wait for an SOS situation, where a stranger is in danger, such as someone drowning or trapped in a burning house.
- Choose to rescue them yourself. Calling an ambulance, the fire department or the police does not count.
- Accept the result. If the rescue works you save a life, and if it fails your character dies, but both give the Hero ribbon.
- If your child chokes on food, pick the Heimlich maneuver. The right choice is random, so it does not always work.
- If you are in the military, a deployment that ends with your character killed on the minefield also gives Hero. Surviving the blast does not count.

Tips
- Hero blocks Model Bitizen. The wiki tells Model Bitizen hunters not to rescue anyone.
- Hero and Veteran block each other on the minefield: Veteran needs at least 3 cleared minefields, and dying on a mine gives Hero instead.
- Dying while trying to save a life gives Hero even when you are under 30, where an early death would normally give Unlucky.
- Plan a Hero life near its end. A failed rescue kills your character, so finish other goals first.
- The Heimlich route is the safe one. The wiki says your character cannot die while trying it, unlike a rescue in an SOS situation.
