Do you need a cheat to resize objects?
EA Help lists resizing as a normal Build Mode control, so you do not need a cheat. Some guides say it only works with the bb.moveobjects on cheat. If the keys do nothing, turn that cheat on and try again.
This is a Build Mode cheat. It does not need testingcheats true, and on console it does not turn off trophies or achievements.
What resizing changes
Resizing only changes how the object looks. Sims do not change size, and they use the object as if it had its normal size.
The bigger you make an object, the more its texture stretches, so very large objects can look blurry. If Sims can't use a resized object, make it smaller again.
Common problems
Shift + ] does nothing
Make sure the object is selected in Build Mode. Then type bb.moveobjects on in the cheat console and try again. Some players resize with ] and [ alone, without Shift.
The bracket keys do not work on a Mac
Some Mac players need another key with the brackets. Try Cmd, Option or Shift together with [ or ].
D-pad up and down do not resize on console
Hold both triggers before you press the D-pad. Some guides give left and right on the D-pad instead, so try those too.
Cheats on this page
