How to hire a nanny in The Sims 4
Click an adult Sim's phone, open the Household menu (the house icon) and choose Hire a Service, then Nanny. The nanny arrives soon after. She costs a §60 base fee plus §10 an hour. She looks after newborns, infants, toddlers and children. Nannies are in the base game.

- Select an adult Sim and click their phone.
- Open the Household menu (the house icon).
- Choose Hire a Service.
- Choose Nanny and confirm the price.
- Wait a short time. A random nanny arrives at the lot.
- To stop the service, fire or dismiss the nanny. If you hire again, a new nanny replaces the old one.
What the nanny does
The nanny feeds, bathes and changes babies, toddlers and children. She also cooks meals, tidies up and helps children with homework.
A nanny with a maxed skill can mentor children who practice that skill. She does not do laundry.
Nanny or babysitter
The game uses both words for the same service. When the last older Sim leaves the lot, a pop-up asks you to hire a babysitter or send the little ones to daycare.
Daycare is free but does not build toddler skills. A one-time nanny stays for about 24 hours unless you dismiss her.
Common problems
The Hire a Service list has no nanny
Use an adult Sim's phone and check that your household has a baby, infant, toddler or child. Update the game, since nannies came in a July 2016 patch.
My Sims left and the kids went to daycare
Hire the nanny before the last older Sim leaves, or pick babysitter in the pop-up that appears when they leave.
I don't like the nanny who came
Fire or dismiss her, then hire again. The game sends a new random nanny.
