How do you speed up pregnancy in The Sims 4?
How to speed up pregnancy in The Sims 4
A Sims 4 pregnancy lasts about three Sim days, and the base game has no button to shorten it. Run the clock faster with the speed controls or clock.setspeed three. Keep the Sim on their home lot. When labor starts, click the Sim and choose Have Baby, or go to the hospital if you own Get to Work.
Pack: Base game (hospital birth needs Get to Work).
Pasos
- Confirm the pregnancy: click a toilet and take a pregnancy test (§15), or look for the trimester moodlet.
- Set the game to the fastest speed with the speed controls. On PC or Mac you can also open the cheat console and type
clock.setspeed three. - Keep the pregnant Sim on their home lot in the third trimester. Birth can be put off for a long time if the Sim stays away from their lot or a hospital.
- When the Sim goes into labor, click them.
- Choose Have Baby to give birth at home. With Get to Work, choose the hospital option instead and pick an on-screen or off-screen birth.
- Wait for the baby to arrive. A bassinet appears if you did not buy one.
How long a Sims 4 pregnancy lasts
EA Help says a pregnancy lasts about three days. The pregnancy moodlet shows which trimester the Sim is in.
The third trimester can last one day or more. Most Sims give birth within three days of the third trimester starting. Labor itself lasts several hours, and the Sim stays uncomfortable.
Hospital, midwife and ultrasound
The hospital is a Get to Work lot. A Sim in labor can go there with up to one companion, and all their needs are refilled after the birth. Without Get to Work, the Sim has the baby at home.
Midwives, water births and ultrasounds are not in any EA pack we could find. They come from fan mods such as Realistic Childbirth.
Common problems
My Sim has been in the third trimester for days
Send the Sim home and leave them there. Birth only starts on the home lot or at the hospital, so time away from home delays it.
There is no hospital option during labor
Giving birth at the hospital needs the Get to Work expansion pack. Without it, use Have Baby at home.
The pregnancy cheat I found online does not work
Some guides list a buff cheat to start labor, but players report mixed results on current versions. Speed up the clock instead and let labor start on its own.
Cheats on this page
