How to rotate the camera in The Sims 4
On PC and Mac with the default camera, hold the right mouse button and move the mouse left or right. With The Sims 3 camera turned on, hold the mouse wheel and move the mouse to rotate and tilt. On PlayStation and Xbox, push the right stick left or right. Press Tab to enter or leave free camera.

The Sims 3 camera option
The Sims 3 camera lets you rotate and tilt much more freely. Turn it on in Game Options, or click the camera icon at the top right and pick it there. On PC, Ctrl + Shift + Tab also switches to it.
With The Sims 3 camera on, hold the mouse wheel and move the mouse to rotate and tilt. The tilt stays the same when you zoom. It also changes how you rotate objects in Build Mode: you click, hold and drag them.
Free camera (Tab mode)
Free camera hides the interface and lets you aim the camera anywhere, which is good for screenshots. Press Tab on PC and Mac, or select the camera icon at the top right on console.
In free camera on PC, the Q and E keys move the camera up and down. Press Tab again to go back to the normal camera.
Common problems
I'm stuck in free camera and the interface is gone
Press Tab on PC and Mac, Circle on PlayStation, or B on Xbox.
The camera won't tilt low enough
The default camera limits tilt. Switch to The Sims 3 camera, or press Tab to use free camera.
The camera points straight up or down in free camera
Press Tab to leave free camera, then press it again. It usually fixes itself after one to three tries.
