How to become a music producer in BitLife

Music producer BitLife guide: how to unlock the Job Pack, train on the MIDI keyboard, get hired at 18, make tracks and scores, and earn more.

Unlock the Music Producer Job Pack, learn an instrument as a child, and apply to a record label at 18. Use these steps, from All Things How and GameRant:

  1. Get the Music Producer Job Pack. Boss Mode includes it.
  2. As a child, go to Activities, then Mind & Body, then Instruments.
  3. Take lessons every year. Pick the MIDI keyboard if you can.
  4. At 18, open Occupation, then Special Careers, then Music Producer.
  5. Apply to a record label with a low rating.
  6. Start as a Junior Music Producer, and make tracks and scores.

We opened every source on November 7, 2026. The two main guides date from January and June 2026. Candywriter changes BitLife with each update, so check the menus in your own game.

When did the Music Producer job come out?

The job came out in January 2026. The App Store version history for 3.22.3, on January 21, says: “We’re also rolling out our final Job Pack: Music Producer!” Version 3.23, on February 3, repeats the news.

“Final” means the last Job Pack. In September 2026, BitLife added the Movie Director Expansion Pack. That pack is for directing films, not for music.

No. GameRant says that “the music producer career is not available in the free version of Bitlife.” All Things How says that, without the purchase, the option does not show in the Jobs tab.

Does Boss Mode include Music Producer?

Yes, by the official pages. The App Store calls Music Producer a Job Pack. The BitLife Help Center says that Boss Mode “unlocks all current and future Job Packs.” So Boss Mode covers it.

The sources do not agree on how you buy it. All Things How and GameRant say that the job needs the Boss Mode pack. They name no separate Music Producer purchase. The App Store calls it a Job Pack, and other Job Packs, such as Musician, were sold alone. Destructoid gave a separate price for the Musician pack in 2024. We found no official page that shows a separate price for Music Producer.

The US App Store lists Boss Mode at $20.99 today. Your store shows the price for your country. If you see a single Music Producer pack in your game store, check its price there. Our guide o BitLife é gratuito explains the other purchases.

Is Music Producer the same as the Musician pack?

No. The Musician pack makes you the artist. You audition for a label, sign a contract, and release albums. The Music Producer pack puts you behind the artist. You make tracks for singers on your label. For the artist path, read how to become a singer in BitLife.

You need the Job Pack, a high instrument skill, and an age of 18 or more. A clean record helps too.

RequisitoO que você precisa
Pacote de EmpregosMusic Producer, through Boss Mode.
Idade18 or older. GameRant applied after university.
Instrument skillClose to 100% by age 18, says All Things How.
InstrumentAny instrument works. Both guides prefer the MIDI keyboard.
Antecedentes criminaisNone. GameRant says that a label can reject you at once for a record.

Which instrument is best for a music producer?

The MIDI keyboard. All Things How says that labels prefer MIDI players in the interview. The GameRant writer also got the best results with the MIDI keyboard. Other instruments still work.

At what age do lessons start?

The guides give different ages. All Things How says age 5. GameRant says age 8. Open Activities, then Mind & Body, then Instruments, each year from age 5. If the lessons are not there yet, try again next year.

Take lessons at least once a year until the skill bar is full. Your parents pay as a child. Destructoid says that lessons cost money once you are an adult.

Do you need a music degree?

The guides do not agree. GameRant chose Music as the major at university and applied after it. All Things How says that you can apply at 18. Try at 18 first. If labels reject you, go to university and study Music.

Apply to a record label with a low rating. All Things How says that a low-rated label has a much higher chance to hire a new producer.

  1. At 18 or older, open Occupation, then Special Careers.
  2. Tap Music Producer. The game shows the record labels and their popularity.
  3. Pick a label with a low rating, and apply.
  4. If the label says no, try another label.

GameRant says that the job does not always show at first. Restart the app, or age up, and check again.

When a label hires you, you become a Junior Music Producer. All Things How gives a base salary of about $40,000. Our guide how to get a job in BitLife covers the normal job menus.

You make two kinds of music: tracks for the singers on your label, and scores for films and video games. GameRant says to start with scores, because new producers have low reputation. Many artists refuse to work with a new producer.

How do you make a track?

  1. Tap Produce Track, and pick a singer from your label.
  2. Check the vocal quality. Pick a singer with high stats.
  3. Set the track name, the subject, the lyrical hook, and the beat.
  4. Make each part fit the genre and the style of the singer.

All Things How says that the label rejects a track as “too experimental” when the parts do not match the artist. GameRant says that a few failures at the start are normal.

What is the Beats tab?

The Beats tab lists your accepted tracks. GameRant says that a track goes there when the label accepts it. The beat is also one of the four parts that you set for each track.

When does a track make money?

A track makes money after you age up, not at once. All Things How says that the game shows total revenue, not the revenue of each track. It gives these sales levels:

  • Gold: 500,000 sales.
  • Platinum: 1 million sales.
  • Double platinum: 2 million sales.
  • Diamond: about 3 million sales.

All Things How found no limit on records per year. It says that some players made 15 in one year.

How does score production work?

Open Score Production in the Music Producer activities. Your label gives you a film or game project with a mood. You pick a lead instrument, a background instrument, and a speed in beats per minute (BPM).

HumorInstruments and speed that worked
SorrowCello or acoustic guitar to lead, double bass or French horn behind, 50 to 70 BPM (All Things How)
TriumphantTrumpet to lead, xylophone behind, about 120 BPM (GameRant)
ExcitementXylophone to lead, banjo behind, about 100 BPM (GameRant)
RomânticoPiano (GameRant)
PatrioticTrumpet (All Things How)
Magical or fantasyHarp (All Things How)

All Things How says that the game changes the instrument list at random each time. A good score can pay up to about $100,000. A failed score lowers your reputation.

Raise your reputation. All Things How says that reputation grows when you sign new artists, make tracks that sell, and finish score projects. A Junior Music Producer gets about $40,000. A Music Producer gets about $70,000.

How do you find and sign new talent?

  1. Tap Talent Scout, and go to an event.
  2. Check the voice quality and the vibe match of each performer.
  3. Skip events with low talent quality.
  4. Pitch the best performer to your label.

GameRant says that the genre of the singer must match the genre of the label. If it does not match, give the singer a new stage name and genre before the pitch. All Things How says that you can pitch only one talent each year. New, small artists say yes more often than famous ones.

What is a club takeover?

A club takeover puts one of your artists on stage at a nightclub. It raises the popularity of the artist and the sales of later years. Clubs reject artists who are not known. All Things How says that the artist needs one or two popular tracks first.

Should you move to a bigger label?

Yes, when your reputation is higher. All Things How says that a popular label with many artists raises reputation faster. It says that some players reached full reputation in one year at a large label. You can resign at any time and apply to another label.

  • The job is not in the list. Check that you own Boss Mode or the Job Pack. Then restart the app, or age up one year.
  • Every label says no. Raise your instrument skill. Apply to labels with a low rating. Stay away from crime.
  • Artists refuse to work with you. Your reputation is too low. Do score projects first, or sign a new artist through Talent Scout.
  • The label rejects your track. Match the name, subject, hook, and beat to the artist. Mixed styles get the “too experimental” result.
  • Your reputation does not move. All Things How says that some players see no change after much work. Move to a larger label.
  • The track shows no money. Age up. Revenue comes only after you age up.
  • The producer does not get famous. All Things How says that this job alone does not make you famous. See how to become famous in BitLife for other ways.

Do music producers get royalties?

The sources do not agree. On January 31, 2026, All Things How said that producers get no royalties, only salary and commissions. On February 19, 2026, the App Store notes said: “we’ve patched a bug that affected Music Producer royalties.” So the game has some producer royalties, at least after that fix. Check your own finances after you age up.
