Dónde guarda Stardew Valley las partidas en PC, Mac, Linux, Steam Deck, Android, iPhone y Switch, y cómo hacer una copia de seguridad y transferir una granja entre dispositivos.

Stardew Valley saves are in %appdata%\StardewValley\Saves on Windows, and in ~/.config/StardewValley/Saves on a Mac, on Linux, and on a Steam Deck. On Android they are in Android/data/com.chucklefish.stardewvalley/files/Saves. Each farm has its own folder. To transfer a farm, copy its whole folder into the Saves folder of the other device.

On Windows, the saves are in %appdata%\StardewValley\Saves. On a Mac, on Linux, and on a Steam Deck, they are in ~/.config/StardewValley/Saves. Each farm has its own folder in it.

The paths come from the Saves page of the Stardew Valley Wiki, which we read on November 4, 2026. The Steam Deck path is the Linux path in the home folder of the Deck. We make LifeSim, a free life sim in the browser that reads these saves. We say where it fits at the end.

Each farm has a folder with a name and a number, such as Paradise_312220102. In version 1.6, the name is the farm name. Older versions used the farmer's name. The game picks the name when you start the farm, and it does not change later. The wiki says that the folder holds two main files, and that the game needs both to load the save:

  • The file with the same name as the folder, such as JonSnow_123456789. It has no extension. It holds the whole farm as XML text.
  • SaveGameInfo. It holds the farmer, and the Load menu reads it.

You may also see the same two names with _old at the end. Those are the save from the day before. The game keeps them so you can go back one day.

The saves live apart from the game. The wiki says that you can reinstall or update the game, and the saves stay. On a PC, every copy of the game uses the same folder, such as a Steam copy and a GOG copy.

The game saves when a day ends: when you go to bed, when you pass out from no energy, or when you pass out at 2am. If you quit in the middle of a day, you lose that day. In multiplayer, the game saves after every player goes through the end of the day.

Phones and tablets add two more saves. The game makes an emergency save when it goes to the background, for example when you press the home button. You can also tap Save Backup on the Options page. A standard save is still made each night, and it is the one that works on a PC.

  1. Finish the day in the game, then quit.
  2. Open the Saves folder for your device, from the table above.
  3. Make a .zip of the whole farm folder, such as JonSnow_123456789. Keep the zip outside the Saves folder.

Do not leave a copy of a farm folder in the Saves folder. The wiki says that the game tries to load it. If you use SMAPI for mods, its SaveBackup mod keeps up to 10 daily backups in the save-backups folder of the game.

Zip the farm folder on the old computer, copy the zip to the new one, and unzip it into the Saves folder there. The folder name and the main file name must stay the same.

On Steam, Stardew Valley has Steam Cloud, so Steam can sync the saves between your computers on its own. The wiki has one warning. Steam Cloud, GOG Galaxy, and phone backups can put back an older copy of a save. If a save you copied by hand goes back to an old day, start the game first. Then, before you load a save, put your copy in the Saves folder. The cloud service sees the change and keeps your copy.

A save works on a newer version of the game, but not on an older one. A save from version 1.6.15 does not load in version 1.5. Update the game on the new device first.

From Android to PC

  1. Connect the phone to the computer with a cable.
  2. Open Android/data/com.chucklefish.stardewvalley/files/Saves on the phone.
  3. Copy the farm folder into the Saves folder of the computer.
  4. Remove the .bin ending from every file in the copied folder.

From PC to Android

  1. Remove mods and their custom items first. A modded save may not load on a phone.
  2. Start a farm on the phone once, so that the Saves folder exists.
  3. Connect the phone, and copy the farm folder into the Saves folder on the phone.

From Android to Android

Copy the farm folder from the first phone to a computer. Then copy it from the computer into the Saves folder of the second phone, as in the steps above. The game version on the new phone must be the same or newer.

On a current iPhone, the saves are in the Files app, under On My iPhone, then Stardew Valley. Copy a farm folder out of it, or into it, with the Files app.

On iOS 12 or earlier, you need a computer. Connect the iPhone to a Mac or a Windows PC. On a Mac with macOS 10.15 or later, open Finder. On Windows, open iTunes. Choose the device, then File Sharing, then Stardew Valley. Drag each farm folder in or out. Each farm folder goes on its own, not the whole Saves folder.

Not with the normal Switch. The wiki says that you can reach the Switch saves only with custom firmware and a tool named JKSV. This guide does not cover custom firmware.

The wiki gives no way to reach saves on Xbox or PlayStation. For multiplayer, the save lives only on the computer of the host.

The main save file is XML, so a text editor can open it. The wiki warns that a mistake can break a save, and that automatic save editors often break them. Back up the folder first.

LifeSim is a free life sim in your browser, on a real 3D map of Earth. It reads Stardew Valley saves. In the builder, open the import sheet, choose Stardew Valley, and add the farm folder, its .zip, or the main file. LifeSim reads your farmer, your spouse, your children, and up to 4 villagers you are close to. Then they live in a real city, and you can change anything first.

LifeSim does not bring the farm, the crops, the animals, or the items. It is a different kind of game: you live one life in a real city, and you talk to people in your own words. Read how to bring your Stardew Valley farmer into LifeSim.
