How to start

  • Start a new game with one young adult Sim, new or pre-made (a #WonderChild Sim is allowed). Any gender, traits and aspiration; human or alien.
  • Nobody else may be in the household.
  • Buy any home lot you can afford in any world, then buy a retail business lot. Keep the house cheap to leave money for the store.
  • The starting funds stand for a 20,000 simoleon government loan.
  • Set the Sim's Charisma skill down to level 1 with the skill cheat, to reflect the language barrier.
  • The Sim must quit any job they have.

The rules

  • No unfair cheats, mods, hacks or custom content.
  • The immigrant may never take a career. A spouse who joins with a job may keep it but may not pick a new one.
  • Lifespan must be Normal. No Potions of Youth or cow plant milk. Nobody may be aged up early.
  • Hiring store employees is allowed for everyone. Fruit or music can steer a baby's gender.
  • Temporary citizen: the only legal income is selling store items at retail, and those items may not be Sim-made, found or reward objects.
  • Temporary citizen: no selling from buy mode, no selling to galleries, no publishing, no tips, no jingles, no hacking, no asking for loans. Selling walls and build items mid-build is fine.
  • Temporary citizen: no marriage, no one moving in, no adoption. Any baby must be aged to child and moved to another household.
  • Pay back the loan plus 10% (22,000 simoleons) by cheating that amount out of household funds. You then become a full citizen.
  • Full citizen: one spouse may marry in (with their money and job), only once. Babies can be kept; infants can be adopted one at a time.
  • Full citizen: you may sell anything in the store and earn from other sources, but may no longer move household money into the store account or sell items from buy mode on the store lot.

How you win

The challenge ends when the immigrant Sim becomes an elder or dies. Close the store, then count the score.

Scoring

  • 50 points for paying back the loan and becoming a full citizen.
  • 5 points for a gold-medal wedding party.
  • 1 point per 10,000 simoleons in the retail store's account (rounded down). House and household funds do not count.
  • 1 point per 1,000 unspent business perk points (rounded down).

Tips

  • Before citizenship you can only sell bought items, so stock cheap buy-mode objects with a good markup and keep the store open often.
  • Pay the 22,000 back early: the 50 citizenship points are most of the score, and full citizens can sell crafts, paintings and found items.
  • After citizenship, leave money in the store account rather than pulling it home. Only store funds count toward the score.
