How to start

  • Requires City Living.
  • Start with one new Sim from Create a Sim. Any traits and aspiration. Alien or vampire is fine.
  • Aging can be off or on a longer lifespan.
  • Move into the 1313 21 Chic Street apartment, bought unfurnished, then cheat household funds down to 0.
  • The lot traits that came with the apartment must stay. You may add others.

The rules

  • No cheats except to lower your money.
  • You may travel to any world to meet needs (for example a gym or library) and earn early money from collecting, trash rummaging and normal ways.
  • Fully furnish each apartment before leaving: as many bedrooms and bathrooms as listed, a kitchen, and every room used for something.
  • Move through every apartment on the site's apartment list, cheapest first (ranked by rent plus deposit).
  • To move on you need the next apartment's first week of rent plus deposit, and you must have paid one week of rent where you are.
  • Every apartment is bought unfurnished. Take your furniture with you; do not use 'sell all furniture' when moving. Selling single pieces to upgrade is fine.
  • A spouse or roommate can join only after you pay your first week's rent and have a bed for them. One per generation.
  • A joining spouse or roommate brings no money (cheat funds back) and must quit their job and take a new one.
  • Children by birth or adoption are allowed, with traits and aspirations of your choice.
  • Any job, a business or a restaurant can earn money. For a harder run, earn only through a craft such as painting, music or writing.
  • If the founder dies first, the next generation carries on.

How you win

You win when the family moves into Torendi Tower, the most expensive San Myshuno penthouse (listed at 109,445 simoleons unfurnished).

Tips

  • Painting, writing and collecting work from the very first empty apartment, before you can afford a desk or a stove.
  • Buy cheap furniture that you will want to keep. Everything moves with you, so a few good pieces now save money in the bigger apartments.
  • Watch the rent on the bigger apartments. Rent comes every week, so save beyond the move-in cost before upgrading.
