Got bored with BitLife?
It happens to everyone who plays it long enough. You’ve been a royal, a surgeon, a con artist, and a cult leader. You’ve found every ribbon you care about. You tap Age, read the event, pick one of three answers, and you can already guess what comes next.
It’s not that BitLife got worse. It’s that you learned it. The surprise was the fun, and the surprise wore off.
So what do you actually want next? When people ask this on Reddit, the answers split three ways. Some want the same game, fresh. Some want the same game, free. And some want a life that doesn’t end in twenty minutes. This guide covers all three.
You’re on the LifeSim blog, so we’re on this list. We only put ourselves where we fit, and we say where we don’t.
Any games like BitLife but more personalizable?
The big complaint about BitLife is the list. Three choices, the same three every time. A few newer games let you write your own answer.
AltLife Sim: type your own choice
AltLife Sim, from Bountiful Games, came to Google Play in July 2026. It plays like BitLife, year by year, but you can type a custom choice instead of picking one. It’s free, with ads and in-app purchases. We found it on Android only.
Infinite Life Simulation: events that aren’t on a list
Infinite Life Simulation, on iPhone, writes its events as you play, so the same age doesn’t bring the same event twice. It sells a one-time Pro unlock.
LifeSim: say what you’d actually say
In LifeSim, there’s no list at all. You walk up to someone on a real street, in a real city you picked, and you talk. They answer in their own words. They remember what you said the next time you see them, and they tell their friends.
That’s the most personal a life sim gets. But it’s a different pace. More on that below.
Free alternatives to BitLife?
BitLife is free to play, with ads. The extras cost money: Bitizenship, God Mode, and packs like Landlord and Investor, each a separate purchase. If that’s what bothers you, these are the free options.
AltLife – Life Simulator
The closest copy of the BitLife formula, on iPhone and Android, with over a million downloads on Google Play. Free, with ads and an optional membership.
Life Sim: Real Life Simulator
A text life sim on iPhone, still updated in 2026. Free, with ads and a paid option to remove them.
CoreLife and Echoes, in a browser
Both are free text life sims that run in a browser. CoreLife says it has no paywalls. Echoes, on itch.io, has no ads and no purchases, and takes you from birth to death. We wrote more about these in life sims you can play in your browser.
LifeSim
Free, in the browser, with no in-app purchases.
What about DogLife and CatLife?
Candywriter, the studio behind BitLife, made two spin-offs: BitLife Dogs – DogLife and BitLife Cats – CatLife. Same taps, same humor, but you live as a pet. Both are free with ads, with an optional unlock.
If you love the BitLife style and just want new events to read, start here. They’re the only official games like BitLife.
What if you want one life that lasts?
Every game above keeps the core of BitLife: a year per tap, a life in minutes, a gravestone, New Life. That’s the charm. It’s also why you don’t remember your character’s name the next day.
LifeSim goes the other way. A year doesn’t pass when you tap. The clock runs on its own, a day at a time. You live one life, in one city on a real map of Earth. The bar you go to is on the corner where a bar is, and the same people drink there on Fridays.
Nothing is a random event. What happens to you comes from the people you know and the things they saw you do. It’s slower than BitLife, and it hurts more, because you remember who caused it.
Stay with BitLife if you play in five-minute bursts and love the absurd events. LifeSim isn’t built for that. For the full comparison, read LifeSim vs BitLife.
