How to sell a house in The Sims 4
The Sims 4 sells a house when its household moves out. Open Manage Worlds, select the household, click More, then Move Household. Pick a new home and choose Sell Furniture to leave the furnished house behind. Or use Evict Household: the Sims keep their money plus the value of the home. This is base game.

Steps
- Save your game first.
- Move any items you want to keep into the household inventory.
- Open Manage Worlds and select the household.
- Click More, then Move Household (the truck icon).
- Pick a new home that the household can afford.
- Choose Sell Furniture. The old house keeps its furniture for the next household.
- To sell without moving to a new home, choose Evict Household instead and confirm.
Sell Furniture, Keep Furniture or Evict
Sell Furniture leaves the old house furnished for the next household. Items in the household inventory stay with your Sims.
Keep Furniture puts all the furniture in the household inventory and leaves the old house empty.
Evict Household moves the Sims out and leaves all their furniture behind. The Sims keep their Simoleons plus the value of the home. They become homeless and wait in Manage Households until you move them into a new home.
Moving from Live Mode
You can also start a move from your Sim's phone with the Move Household option. You get the same choice to sell or keep the furniture.
Common problems
You cannot find a Sell button
There is no separate sell option. Move Household with Sell Furniture, or Evict Household, is how you sell the home.
You sold items you wanted to keep
Before you move, put those items in the household inventory. Sell Furniture does not sell inventory items. Load your earlier save to undo a move.
No homes show when you move
The list only shows homes the household can afford. Choose a cheaper or unfurnished lot, or type freerealestate on in the cheat console.
The evicted household is gone
Evicted Sims are not deleted. Find them in Manage Households, then move them into a new home.
