How to get abducted by aliens in The Sims 4
You need the Get to Work expansion pack. Abductions happen at night, from 10 PM to 4 AM. Raise the odds: join the Scientist career, use Contact Aliens on the satellite dish, or reach Logic level 7 and use Search for the Truth on the Backyard Observatory. Then wait for the Investigate Weird Light event.

Steps
- Install the Get to Work expansion pack. Abductions do not happen without it.
- Join the Scientist career. Scientists are more likely to be abducted.
- Make the satellite dish with the Invention Constructor and place it on your home lot. Click it and choose Contact Aliens. You can do this once every 24 hours.
- Or build the Logic skill to level 7. Click the Backyard Observatory telescope and choose Search for the Truth at night.
- Keep your Sim at home between 10 PM and 4 AM. Do not lock the doors.
- When your Sim starts Investigate Weird Light, let it run. The UFO beams your Sim up and returns them a few hours later.
Things that raise the chance
The Scientist career, the satellite dish, the Out of this World Desktop, the Electroflux Wormhole Generator and space rocks all raise the odds. The satellite dish and the Out of this World Desktop can also Contact Aliens.
Guides also say the Genius trait helps. No source gives an exact abduction chance.
Alien pregnancy
Male and female Sims can both be abducted. Only male Sims can come back pregnant, with about a 25% chance. Female Sims return with an alien moodlet only.
Common problems
Your Sim never gets abducted
Check that Get to Work is installed. Then combine methods: the Scientist career, Contact Aliens every day and Search for the Truth at night.
Search for the Truth is missing on the telescope
It needs Logic level 7 and the Backyard Observatory. It also does not show after Contact Aliens, because the hidden gauge is already full.
Contact Aliens does not work
Contact Aliens has a 24-hour cooldown. Players also report that the dish works better after you upgrade it later in the Scientist career.
Your Sim walks to the light but is not abducted
Locked doors block the Sim from the weird light. Unlock the doors so your Sim can get outside.
You want to stop abductions
Click the satellite dish and choose Prevent Abductions. It works for 24 hours.
