Sims FreePlay cheats: LP, Simoleons and the time trick

Are there Sims FreePlay cheats? No codes exist. See how to get LP, Simoleons and Social Points, if the time trick is safe, and why mod APKs are not.

Are there cheat codes in The Sims FreePlay?

No. The Sims FreePlay has no cheat window and no codes that you type. Players use in-game methods and one clock trick instead.

The Sims 4 on PC and console has a cheat console. You type codes such as motherlode there. FreePlay is a different game from a different studio, Firemonkeys. Those codes do nothing in FreePlay. Our Sims 4 cheats database lists the codes for The Sims 4 only.

Some guides say that FreePlay has cheat codes. Esports.net (April 2025) says this, but it lists no code strings. It describes tricks with the device clock and with item resale. We found no page that gives a real FreePlay code.

You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a free life sim, and we say plainly where it does not fit. This post covers the three currencies: Lifestyle Points (LP), Simoleons and Social Points. It also covers the risks of each trick.

Does the time change trick still work, and is it safe?

Players still report the trick, but it can damage your town. We found no EA statement that says the trick is blocked now. We also found no proof that it works on the newest version.

How the trick works

The game uses the clock of your device. The Sims Wiki says that one real minute is one minute in the game. Time also moves when the app is closed. If you move the device clock forward, timed tasks end early.

Esports.net (April 2025) gives these steps:

  1. Turn off the automatic date and time in the settings of your device.
  2. Start a task in the game. Then save and close the app.
  3. Set the device clock to a later time or date.
  4. Open the game again.

The same guide gives a second method. It turns off the internet before the clock change and turns it on again after.

The Sims Wiki calls the “time cheat” very popular. It also lists the side effects, from an official EA forum post:

  • Buildings take longer to complete.
  • Sims and babies take longer to arrive.
  • Sims stop going to work.
  • Daily rewards stop.
  • Party Boat gifts and Competition Center results take longer.
  • You lose access to timed events and limited edition awards.
  • Online features can stop: the cloud save, the online store, the Party Boat and the leaderboard.

Search results show EA staff on the FreePlay forum. They tell players to keep the automatic date and time on. A moderator says support cannot help with problems that a time change causes. The EA forum pages did not load for us.

Can EA ban you for it?

We do not know. Section 6 of the EA User Agreement says: “Do not engage or assist in cheating, collusion, unfair play, or using exploits.” We found no EA page that names the clock trick as an exploit. The safe choice is to leave the device clock on automatic.

How do you get LP fast in Sims FreePlay?

Put many Sims on the cooking hobby. Every guide that we opened names cooking as the fastest free way to get LP.

LP means Lifestyle Points. The App Store calls the paid packs “Life Points”. Both names refer to the same premium currency. The Sims Wiki says LP buys certain items. LP also fills all needs of a Sim at once, with a cupcake.

Cocina

  • TouchTapPlay (2022) says cooking gives up to 10 LP each hour.
  • It names Cheese and Tomato on Toast as the easiest dish. It takes about one minute.
  • Each cooking Sim needs a stove and a toaster. A one-star item is enough.
  • After chopping boards unlock, each cook can give up to 5 LP, according to the same guide.
  • TouchTapPlay says one house holds up to 10 Sims. It suggests 10 stoves and 10 toasters.

Other free sources of LP

  • Town value. The Sims Wiki says that a higher value of the neighborhood gives LP. Build houses, shops and workplaces.
  • Competition Center. GamerTweak (2024) says a hobby at level 6 gives a better chance to win. The Sim is busy for the next 24 game hours.
  • Dog digging. GamerTweak says a dog can dig up LP. Give the dog a treat each time.
  • Messes. LevelWinner (2015) says that you get LP when you clean up a mess.
  • Driving. LevelWinner says that a drive gives Simoleons and sometimes LP. Tap the music notes on the road.
  • Weekly tasks and events. Esports.net says weekly tasks, special events and limited-time quests give LP.
  • Season Pass. EA says the free track of the October 2026 Season Pass includes currencies. EA does not say which currencies.

Some of these guides are old. The amounts can be different in the current version. Check the reward on the screen before you plan around it.

How do you get Simoleons fast?

Collect from every house and workplace often, and fill Community Market requests. Do not buy Simoleons with real money.

  • Collect often. The Sims Wiki says you can collect Simoleons from each household and workplace about every minute.
  • Goals. The App Store listing says that you earn Simoleons when you complete goals.
  • Community Market. EA says in its October 2026 news that you earn Simoleons when you grow produce and fill requests there.
  • Two of each production item. LevelWinner says that two ovens make baking faster. An expensive oven is not faster.
  • Sell what you do not use. LevelWinner gives the example of a baby cradle after the baby grows up.

What about the boat party trick?

Esports.net describes a method with the Party Boat. It also names items that you buy, place on an empty lot and sell. It also describes a resale method with items from the Children’s Store. We did not test these methods. Resale tricks can stop working after an update.

The App Store lists Simoleon packs as in-app purchases. LevelWinner advises against them. Your Simoleon income grows with the town, so a pack gives a short benefit.

How do you get Social Points in Sims FreePlay?

Visit the towns of your neighbors and complete social tasks there. Each task gives Social Points.

  1. Reach level 9. The Girl Who Games says that you need level 9 for the Party Boat and social tasks.
  2. Open the Party Boat and pick a neighbor town from the list.
  3. Send one Sim to the town of one neighbor.
  4. Select the matching object in that town to complete a social task.
  5. Go back to the town of the neighbor to bring the Sim home. The Sim does not come back alone.

The same guide gives the limits. Only one Sim can visit at a time, and only one neighbor at a time. Babies and toddlers cannot visit. A Sim stays about one day.

The App Store also sells Social Point packs. We found no current free source of Social Points other than visits and events.

Are Sims FreePlay mod APKs and LP generators safe?

No. A mod APK or an “LP generator” breaks the EA User Agreement. It can also carry malware.

What the EA User Agreement says

  • Section 6 forbids cheating, exploits and the farming of in-game currency.
  • Section 7.C names a “mod”, a “hack”, a “trainer” and a “cheat” as Unauthorized Third-Party Programs.
  • Section 7.C says EA may terminate your license and your EA Account if it finds that you cheated.
  • Section 8 says EA may remove items from an account and ban a device from EA services.
  • Section 8 also says EA gives no refund for those items if it takes action.

What security researchers say

Kaspersky found malicious apps disguised as Minecraft mods in 2021. Some were on Google Play. They showed ads or stole social media logins. Kaspersky warns that attackers hide malware in cracks, cheats and mods. It tells players to avoid mods from suspicious sites.

What about the generator sites?

Search results for “sims freeplay mod apk” show many generator pages on unrelated domains. They promise free LP and Simoleons. The game keeps its data with EA and needs a network connection, according to the App Store. A web page cannot add LP to your EA account. Do not give these pages your login, your phone number or a download permission.

Is The Sims FreePlay still updated in 2026?

Yes. EA posted FreePlay news in 2026, and the App Store shows a new version in October.

  • October 2026: Courting Crimson, the final chapter of Between the Lines, with a Season Pass. EA gives October 14 as the date.
  • August 2026: Tale of Knights, and an FAQ for the Build Mode and Home Store refresh (August 24).
  • July 2026: Seaside Swoon.
  • February to May 2026: the On The Case updates, and the Livin’ Large Town Expansion.

The App Store lists version 118.1.284528. It needs iOS 15.0 or later and a network connection. The game is free with in-app purchases, ads and loot boxes.

Is there a life sim on a phone without the grind?

LifeSim is one option, but it is not a Sims game. It has no build mode, no SimTown and no LP. LifeSim is a free AI life sim in the browser at play.lifesim.com and on iPhone. You live one life in a real city on a 3D map of Earth. You talk to people in your own words. There is no Android app.

Lo que no pudimos verificar

  • Whether the clock trick works on version 118. We did not test it, and the EA forum pages did not load for us.
  • Whether EA bans accounts for the clock trick. We found no EA page that says so.
  • The current LP amounts for cooking, chopping boards, dog digging and competitions. The guides are from 2015 to 2025.
  • The boat party and Children’s Store resale tricks. Esports.net describes them, but we did not test them.
  • Free LP from ads, offers or daily login rewards in the current version. No page that we opened confirms them.
  • Posts on r/SimsFreePlay. Reddit did not load for us.
  • The Google Play listing. The page did not load for us.
