How do you browse intelligence in The Sims 4?

How to browse intelligence in The Sims 4

Browse Intelligence is a task in the Secret Agent career (base game), not the Military career. Click a computer and select More Choices > Web > Browse the Intelligence Database. The option only shows for Sims in the Secret Agent career. It takes about two Sim hours.

Pack: Base game.

Steps

Join the Secret Agent career: open the phone and select Business > Find a Job, then choose Secret Agent.
Click a computer or laptop.
Select More Choices > Web > Browse the Intelligence Database.
Let your Sim browse for about two Sim hours.
Open the Career panel (the briefcase icon) to check that the task is done.

When the career asks for it

EA lists Browse Intelligence as a promotion requirement at Agency Clerk, Intelligence Researcher, Field Agent, Government Agent and Secret Agent (ranks 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7). At rank 7 your Sim chooses the Diamond Agent or Villain branch. Those branches ask for Romantic or Mischief interactions instead.

Military career is different

The Military career comes with the StrangerVille Game Pack. It has its own tasks, such as monitoring other Sims with the Listening Device table and giving orders. It does not use Browse Intelligence.

Common problems

Only Sims in the Secret Agent career see it. Check the Career panel to confirm the job.

I can't find it on the computer

Play your Sims somewhere new

LifeSim is a free life sim in your browser, set in real cities. It can bring in a household from your Sims 4 Tray files or a save: import a Sims 4 household. It doesn't change your Sims 4 game.
