How to make Ambrosia in The Sims 4

Your Sim needs level 10 in Cooking and level 10 in Gourmet Cooking. Put an Angelfish, a Death Flower and a Potion of Youth in your Sim's inventory or the fridge. Then choose Make Ambrosia from the gourmet cooking options. Give it to a ghost to bring them back to life. This is base game.

Steps

Raise your Sim's Cooking skill to level 10 and Gourmet Cooking skill to level 10. Ambrosia is the level 10 Gourmet Cooking recipe. You do not need a recipe book.
Catch an Angelfish. It needs Fishing level 3 and lives in base game worlds such as Willow Creek, Oasis Springs and Newcrest.
Get a Death Flower. Graft a Pomegranate to an Orchid (Gardening level 5), or buy Rare Plants seed packets.
Buy a Potion of Youth from the Rewards Store for 1,500 Satisfaction Points.
Put all three ingredients in your Sim's inventory or the fridge.
Click the fridge, open the gourmet cooking options and choose Make Ambrosia.
Have the ghost Sim eat the Ambrosia. The ghost must be in your household.

What Ambrosia does

A ghost who eats Ambrosia comes back to life. They float up into the air and get their normal colors back.

A living Sim who eats it gets the Divine Meal moodlet, and their age resets to the start of their life stage. The Potion of Youth alone is a cheaper way to make a living Sim younger.

Other ways to get the ingredients

With Realm of Magic, you can buy Angelfish and Death Flowers in the Magic Realm. A Spellcaster who knows the Copypasto spell can copy finished Ambrosia.

With cheats, open the cheat console, type testingcheats true, then type bb.showhiddenobjects. Search Build Mode for Death Flower; it costs 1,200 Simoleons. On console, testingcheats turns off achievements for that save.

Common problems

Make Ambrosia does not show

Your Sim needs level 10 in both Cooking and Gourmet Cooking. All three ingredients must be in the Sim's inventory or the fridge.

The ghost will not eat the Ambrosia

Ghosts outside your household do not eat it. Make friends with the ghost and ask them to join your household, then tell them to eat it.

You cannot catch an Angelfish

Your Sim needs Fishing level 3. Try a spot in Willow Creek, Oasis Springs or Newcrest, and use organic bait.

Your plants will not graft into a Death Flower

Grafting unlocks at Gardening level 5. Graft a Pomegranate cutting onto an Orchid.
