Your Sim needs 100 skill points to reach level 1. Going from level 1 to level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points. The point cost rises with each new level.

The halfway mark in levels is much less than halfway in points. Level 5 asks for 12,580 total points, while level 10 takes 81,580 total points.

The largest jumps happen near the end. Level 7 takes 10,140 points from level 6, and level 10 takes 21,120 points from level 9.

Emotions change how fast your Sim gains Logic points. A Focused Sim gets a 1.4 multiplier, and a Very Focused Sim gets a 1.6 multiplier. Bad moods slow progress down, as Angry or Sad drops the multiplier to 0.8, and Enraged drops it to 0.4.

Specific moodlets multiply skill gains even further. Among Geniuses, Eagle Eye Carrot Smoothie, and Omega Brain Boost each give a 2 multiplier. Moodlets like Amygdelighted, Dedication, and Mental Boost give a 1.5 multiplier.

General skill boosts also work on Logic and stack with other multipliers. Snaggle Flustered multiplies skill gain by 4. Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up multiply your points by 3.

Higher levels unlock new interactions. At level 2, you can Collect Microscope Sample, Analyze Plant Sample, Build Time Travel Component, and Discuss Logic Puzzles. Later levels add Analyze Fossil Sample at level 5, Search For The Truth at level 7, and Analyze Crystal Sample at level 8.

Two careers require Logic for promotions. The Astronaut career asks for level 2 at career level 2, rising to level 5 at career levels 5 and 6. The Business career needs level 2 starting at career level 3, and the Investor branch eventually asks for level 10 at career level 9.

You can set the skill right away with a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console, type testingcheats true, and enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Logic 10. You can change the 10 at the end to any level from 1 to 10.
