Daily schedule and pay in the Scientist career
Your work schedule stays the same across the entire career. You work Monday through Friday, starting at 10:00 for 9 hours each day. This adds up to 45 hours of work each week.
Pay starts at 24 Simoleons per hour, or 1,080 Simoleons per week, at level 1. By level 5, you make 72 Simoleons per hour and 3,240 Simoleons per week as a Technological Innovator. At level 10, your pay reaches 247 Simoleons per hour, which gives you 11,115 Simoleons per week.
Paid time off also grows as you advance. You earn 0.2 days off per workday at level 1, and 0.4 days off per workday at level 10. After reaching level 10, each extra overmax level adds 10 Simoleons to your hourly rate.
Career tracks and ways to boost your pay
The Scientist career has no branches. Every Sim in this field follows the same single track from level 1 to level 10. You do not need to choose between two paths to get the top pay of 11,115 Simoleons per week.
You can increase your hourly pay at every level with specific traits and degrees. A Physics Degree (BS, honors) adds 41 percent to your hourly pay, while a regular Physics Degree (BS) adds 39 percent. A Physics Degree (BA, honors) adds 36 percent, and a Physics Degree (BA) adds 32 percent.
Other traits also give you a raise. The Knowledge trait boosts hourly pay by 30 percent, and the Valedictorian trait adds 15 percent. Business Savvy, Graduated High School Early, and Graduated with Honors each add 10 percent to your hourly rate.
Getting promoted faster and using career cheats
When your work performance is close to the promotion line, you have a 1 percent base chance for an early promotion. The Entrepreneurial trait multiplies this chance by 10, and the Growth Mindset moodlet multiplies it by 5. One other condition in the game files also affects early promotions.
Poor performance can cost you your rank. If your performance hits the demotion line at the end of a shift, there is a 100 percent base chance of demotion. The Professional Slacker trait multiplies this chance by 0, which prevents demotions, while quitting drops your rejoining level by one every 2 days.
