What it does

Organized Debug sorts hidden debug and Live Edit objects into normal catalog categories.
Filters for debug, Live Edit, custom content and Maxis items replace typing cheats.
Expandable catalog you switch with the 1 key; Tab gives a free camera.
Mark favorites with a middle click and find them under Browse by Function.
Light editor with a full color wheel (shift-click a light).
Toggles for Move Objects, Ignore Unlocks and a temporary no-delete mode.
Swatch Tray (v4.0) shows every swatch of an object in a side panel.
CC Report lists all custom content used in a build.

How to install it

Delete any older copy of Better BuildBuy first.
Open the zip from the Patreon post and drag the Tmex-BetterBuildBuy folder straight into your Mods folder. Do not put it in a subfolder or change the files.
Turn on Script Mods Allowed in Game Options > Other and restart.
To use Organized Debug, tick it in the Build/Buy filter panel and restart when asked.
Before uninstalling, turn Organized Debug off and restart, then delete the folder.

Does it work with the latest patch?

Latest version is v4.5. The post was published April 3, 2026 and last edited April 24, 2026; it adds support for Maker Kits and fixes a black main menu after the marketplace patch. TwistedMexi's later status posts (through August 2026) do not list a newer Better BuildBuy release. As of Oct 28, 2026 the creator has posted nothing about the Oct 27, 2026 patch (1.129.39). After each patch with new objects, the creator tells players to refresh Organized Debug (turn off, restart, turn on, restart).

After every game update, check the creator's page before you play. If the game breaks, read your newest error file with the LastException reader, and see what the last patch changed.

Known conflicts

Do not also install a separate BuildCam or expandable catalog mod; they are built in.
Do not use the debug, liveedit, MOO or entitlement cheats; use the filters instead.

Why is my custom content missing in Better BuildBuy?

The Custom Content filter is off by default. Tick it in the filter panel once and it stays on.

Do I still need the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat?

No. Use the Debug and Live Edit filters instead of the cheats.

Does Better BuildBuy include TOOL?

No. TOOL is a separate mod, but with both installed you can use TOOL inside build mode (Shift+T).
