What it does
- Moods shift more gradually and last longer.
- Small discomforts can push Sims toward negative thoughts.
- Sims only feel truly happy after something big happens.
- Room decor and other emotion auras build up and fade over time.
- Some moodlets are randomly stronger or weaker.
- In-game tips explain each feature as it happens.
- Settings menu (click your Sim > roBurky > Meaningful Stories) to change or turn off any feature.
How to install it
- Download the free zip from roBurky's itch.io page.
- Uninstall roBurky's older mood mods first; their effects are already included.
- Unzip into your Mods folder; keep the script file no more than one folder deep.
- Turn on Script Mods Allowed in Game Options > Other and restart.
Does it work with the latest patch?
Latest version is v1.6.10.0 (Aug 20, 2025). The itch.io page says it works on The Sims 4 v1.122 (the marketplace patch, March 23, 2026) and needs game version 1.116 or later. As of Oct 28, 2026 the creator has posted nothing about patches after 1.122, including the Oct 27, 2026 patch (1.129.39).
After every game update, check the creator's page before you play. If the game breaks, read your newest error file with the LastException reader, and see what the last patch changed.
Known conflicts
- roBurky's own older mood mods (remove them). The creator says there are no known conflicts with other creators' mods because it avoids tuning overrides.
