What it does

Adds a 'Grannies Old Cookbook' in Build/Buy under kitchen small appliances; it can also sit in a Sim's inventory.
Click the book to cook custom food through its pie menu.
Recipes come as separate files sorted into meals, desserts, drinks, snacks, appetisers, breakfast, BBQ, toddler food, pet food and occult food.
Each recipe unlocks at its own cooking skill level.
The book can be renamed, gifted and passed down as an heirloom, and has color swatches.
October 7, 2026 version adds support for the Occult October recipes.

What it needs

Homestead Helper by Littlbowbub (required; recipes stop mid-cooking without it).
Recipe files, downloaded separately. Most are base game; pack needs are in each file name.

How to install it

Download the newest cookbook .package from the Patreon post and delete the old one.
Download Homestead Helper and put it in your Mods folder too.
Pick recipes from the creator's collections page, or grab the bulk download sorted by food type, and unzip them into Mods.
The creator keeps everything in a Mods/GranniesCookbook subfolder.
In game, buy the cookbook, place it (the kitchen works well) and click it to cook.

Does it work with the latest patch?

Latest cookbook file is dated October 7, 2026 (07-10-2026; the creator writes dates day-month-year). Homestead Helper was updated the same day. As of Oct 28, 2026 the creator has posted nothing about the Oct 27, 2026 patch (1.129.39).

After every game update, check the creator's page before you play. If the game breaks, read your newest error file with the LastException reader, and see what the last patch changed.

Known conflicts

The chocolate egg ice cream recipe breaks the desserts section if you do not own Cool Kitchen Stuff; remove it in that case.
Old copies of the cookbook, Homestead Helper or a recipe cause a 'get_model' error; replace all three with the newest versions.
Off-the-grid lots: the creator offers a small separate override if cooking will not finish.
