What it does
- Pick one or more kids, a trusted adult host, a reason and a stay length.
- Kids really move into the host household for the stay, and you can switch to play the host side.
- Write care instructions per child that fit their age, such as nap times, homework or a curfew.
- Hosts may accept, ask for care money, ask for a shorter stay or say no; you can turn random answers off.
- Call or text the host or child, get behavior updates, extend the stay or bring kids home early.
- Your household can also offer to watch another family's kids (added Aug 19, 2026).
- Boarding School add-on (beta, Sept 2026): five schools, terms from 3 to 14 days, tuition, needs looked after while away, and a term report on return.
What it needs
- Script mods turned on.
- XML Injector only for the optional phone-menu shortcut.
How to install it
- Delete every older Ship DA Kids Off file first.
- Put the .package and .ts4script in your Mods folder (the creator uses a JayESims subfolder); keep the script no more than one folder deep.
- Add the phone-menu file only if you already use XML Injector.
- For Boarding School, add all its .package files and its .ts4script too.
- Delete localthumbcache.package, then restart. Click an adult Sim and choose Ship DA Kids Off.
Does it work with the latest patch?
Main mod files are dated Aug 19, 2026; the post says it was last checked Aug 20, 2026 against game 1.126.78. On Oct 27, 2026 JayESims posted that all of their mods are compatible with that day's game update (1.129.39).
After every game update, check the creator's page before you play. If the game breaks, read your newest error file with the LastException reader, and see what the last patch changed.
Known conflicts
- The creator asks you to test in a copied save if you use other mods that move Sims between households.
