Is there a game where you can live in Spain?
Spain life simulator
Yes. LifeSim puts you in the real Spain on a 3D map of the real streets. You describe a character and live in any Spanish city or village day by day. The people you meet have jobs and routines, and they remember your conversations. It is free and runs in your browser.
Start a life in SpainLife in Spain
Daily life in Spain runs on a late schedule, with a big lunch around 2:00 PM and dinner after 9:00 PM. Family ties are strong, and people of all ages gather in outdoor plazas for the evening stroll, called el paseo. Friends often meet after work to walk from bar to bar for small beers and tapas.
Where to live in Spain
Madrid
The inland capital with dense apartments, corporate offices, and evening socializing on neighborhood street terrazas.
Barcelona
A bilingual Mediterranean port city where people balance tech and design work with beach outings.
Seville
A southern city with shaded courtyard homes, orange trees, flamenco traditions, and late-night street life.
Valencia
A flat, sunny eastern port built around the Turia riverbed park, urban beaches, and food markets.
Bilbao
A rainy northern city shaped by maritime industry, the Basque language, and pintxos taverns.
Canary Islands
An Atlantic volcanic archipelago with year-round spring weather, inter-island ferries, and a relaxed island pace.
A sample life: the oposiciones grind in Madrid
Lucia, 24, moves into a shared flat in Madrid after university. She works part-time at a bakery in the morning and studies for the oposiciones civil service exams. You write this setup in the character box, and the game places her on the real Madrid streets.
Every afternoon, Lucia searches the 3D map for a public library and walks there to study. She sets a daily to-do list to keep up with her reading. Her flatmates have their own weekday routines, jobs, and friends.
On Friday evening, a flatmate texts Lucia to plan an outing for cañas and tapas. They pick a bar on the map, walk there together, and talk in their own words. The day ends with a recap, and her friends remember the night in their journals.
Small towns and the Spanish countryside
Many families in Spain keep ties to an ancestral rural village, called a pueblo. People often leave big cities in August to spend the summer holidays in these small towns. In LifeSim, you do not have to pick a big city.
Any named village in regions like Galicia, Aragon, or Castile works on the 3D map. You can play a character who leaves Barcelona to renovate a stone house and start a casa rural guesthouse. You walk the real country roads, greet aging neighbors during the evening paseo, and build a quiet life.
School and work in Spain
Compulsory schooling in Spain runs from age 6 to 16, ending with four years of lower secondary school called ESO. At 16, students choose the academic Bachillerato for university or Formación Profesional for practical trades. Students take the Selectividad exam to enter public universities for a four-year Grado degree.
Most people work in services, tourism, banking, automotive factories, renewable energy, or export agriculture. Many small shops use a split schedule, closing from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, while offices often use a continuous 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM shift. Government jobs, called funcionarios, require passing state exams.
LifeSim has no career ladder, salary, or exam scores. To play these roles, write your age, school path, or job into your character prompt. Your daily chats and activities change your cash and shape your story.
Which Spanish city to pick
Pick Madrid for dense apartment living, corporate jobs, and evening chats on street terrazas. Choose Barcelona if you want a Mediterranean port with tech and design jobs, modernist buildings, and city beaches.
Pick Seville for shaded courtyards, orange trees, and late-night street life in the hot south. Valencia gives you a flat, sunny port city with the Turia riverbed park and agricultural markets. For a coastal life focused on hospitality and expat neighbors, choose Málaga on the Costa del Sol.
If you prefer the rainy green north, pick Bilbao for industrial heritage and Basque pintxos taverns. For a slow island pace with year-round spring weather, start your life in the Canary Islands.

How it works
- Describe your character in one text box. Name a city or town in Spain in the text.
- The game reads the place from your text and puts you there, on a 3D map of the real streets.
- Live day by day. Go to real places, meet people, and talk to them in your own words.
Questions
Can I live in any Spanish city or village in LifeSim?
Yes. The 3D map covers all of Earth, so any named city or rural pueblo in Spain works. Type the place name in your character text or search for it by hand.
Is the game in Spanish?
No. LifeSim is in English only. The people in Spain speak to you in English, and the streets and places keep their real names.
Can I drive cars or ride the AVE high-speed train?
No. LifeSim has no vehicles you drive and no trains or subways you ride. If you want to drive Spanish highways, play the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iberia expansion.
Can I cook paella or run a restaurant mini-game?
No. LifeSim has no cooking mini-games, no skill bars, and no building interiors. You can play a chef by writing it into your story and talking with guests outside your restaurant.
What are the normal meal times in Spain?
People eat later than in most of Europe. Lunch, called la comida, is the largest meal and happens between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Dinner, called la cena, is a lighter meal between 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM.
Are there other games set in Spain?
Yes. Alba: A Wildlife Adventure lets you explore a Spanish Mediterranean island to save a nature reserve. Wheelman is an open-world driving game set on the streets of Barcelona.
