Is there a surfer simulator game?
Surfer simulator
Yes. In LifeSim, you play a surfer or surf instructor in any real coastal town on a 3D map. You talk to sponsors, students, and local surfers in your own words. It is free in the browser on phones and desktops, with no download.
A beachboy instructor in HonoluluHow to play a surfer in LifeSim
- Write your surfer's name, age, coastal city, and story in the character box, or click Shuffle.
- Use place search to find a real beach, pier, gym, or café on the 3D map.
- Set life goals and a daily to-do list, such as waxing your quiver or meeting a brand sponsor.
- Talk to students, lifeguards, and friends in your own words in person or by text message.
A sample life: coaching on Waikiki Beach
Koa, 24, starts his week in Honolulu as an instructor teaching beginners on soft-top foam boards at Waikiki Beach. He adds "check the marine weather buoy" and "wax the longboards" to his daily to-do list before dawn patrol. At the beach, he talks to nervous tourists in his own words and leads an ocean safety briefing.
By Thursday, a big winter swell arrives on Oahu's North Shore. Koa gets a group text from two local surfers inviting him on an outing to Banzai Pipeline. They walk to the beach together, watch the hollow barrels, and talk about entering the regional qualifying trials. When Friday ends, the daily recap saves these moments, and his friends remember his goal.
What a surfer life looks like in LifeSim
In LifeSim, you play out the story of a surfer day by day on a 3D map of Earth. There are no sports mini-games or skill bars. Instead, you live the routine of checking offshore winds, rinsing wetsuits, and talking with photographers or sponsors. Your cash and health change through your activities and conversations, from earning lesson pay to resting a strained shoulder.
You can start as a teen entering youth amateur clubs or an older veteran running a board-storage shed. If you live on the Gold Coast, you can walk near Snapper Rocks or Burleigh Heads. As years pass, your character ages through life stages. A competitive surfer can retire from tournament heats and mentor rookie coaches on the beach.
Life outside the ocean lineup
When the ocean goes flat or onshore winds ruin the surf, your life continues on land. Everyone in your town has a home, a job, and a weekday and weekend routine. You can use place search to find a real café, gym, or park and meet friends there.
People text you on their own to invite you to happenings around the city. You might go to a house party, birthday drinks, karaoke, or a pickup game. You can also edit the people in your cast, such as your partner, a rival surfer, or a surf shop boss.
Prompts that work for a surfer
You start by describing your character in one text box. Include your name, age, city, and whether you compete in heats, chase big waves, or teach lessons. Name any real coastal city or town, and the game puts you there.
Try a prompt like "Tahlia, 21, a pro surfer in Gold Coast, Australia, training for the World Surf League tour at Snapper Rocks." For a teaching story, write "Callum, 34, a surf coach in Newquay, UK, who teaches beginners at Fistral Beach." You can also try "Mateo, 27, a free-surfer in San Diego, USA, who repairs fiberglass shortboards at a local surf shop."

Questions
Can I actually ride waves in a mini-game?
No. LifeSim has no wave-riding mini-games, trick controls, or tournament scoreboards. If you want physics-based wave riding, play Barton Lynch Pro Surfing or Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.
Can I surf in famous real-world beach towns?
Yes. The map includes all of Earth, so you can live in Honolulu, Gold Coast, Huntington Beach, or Newquay. You use place search to visit real beaches, piers, and surf shops.
Do surf instructors need a license in real life?
Usually. Most surf schools, insurers, and local beach permits require coaching certifications from groups like the ISA or Surfing Australia. They also must pass open-water rescue tests and hold valid CPR certificates.
Can I play as a surf coach instead of a pro?
Yes. Write in your starting prompt that you teach beginners on foam boards at a local beach school. You can chat with students and manage your daily lesson schedule.
Is this surfer simulator free?
Yes. LifeSim is free in your browser at play.lifesim.com with no download or paid items. You can play as a guest or make an account to save in the cloud.
