Life in Gold Coast

The Gold Coast sits on the eastern coast of Australia, just south of Brisbane. Daily life focuses on the outdoors, with morning beach walks and visits to open-air cafes before work. Residents spend weekends at coastal parks, night markets, or along the inland canals.

The official business center with office buildings, Chinatown restaurants, and parks along the Broadwater.

Burleigh Heads

A coastal neighborhood known for its surf break, pine-lined foreshore parks, and James Street cafes.

A sample life: a nurse's first month in Southport

Mia, 26, moves to an older apartment unit in Southport to work as a nurse. She sets two life goals: make close friends and explore the coastal parks.

In week one, Mia searches for a cafe near the Broadwater and goes there before her shift. She orders a flat white coffee and talks to the barista in her own words. The barista remembers Mia the next morning and asks about her hospital job.

In week two, a neighbor texts Mia to invite her to Miami Marketta for street food. They start a group text thread with two other friends and plan a weekend outing. By week four, Mia has a full calendar and friends who remember their shared nights out.

A day in the Gold Coast in LifeSim

Say you start as a 29-year-old hotel worker living in Broadbeach. In the morning, you check your daily to-do list and walk along the Gold Coast Oceanway. You stop at a local cafe for smashed avocado on toast and talk with a neighbor.

In the afternoon, a friend texts you about a birthday drinks happening on James Street in Burleigh Heads. You go there on the 3D map and talk with the group. The day ends with a recap of your moments, and your cash changes based on your activities.

Work and jobs in the Gold Coast

The main industries in the city are tourism, healthcare, construction, retail, higher education, and film production. Major employers include Gold Coast Health, Village Roadshow Theme Parks, and The Star Gold Coast. Students and staff also work at Griffith University in Southport and Bond University in Robina.

To start a job in LifeSim, write it into your character prompt at the start. You can be a nurse at Gold Coast University Hospital or a film crew worker in Oxenford. The game has no career ladder or salary, so your daily chats and goals shape your work life.

Famous Gold Coast places to find on the map

You can use place search to find real landmarks on the 3D map. Go to the SkyPoint Observation Deck at the Q1 Building in Surfers Paradise to meet friends. Search for Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach or the HOTA cultural precinct for a group outing.

If you like nature, plan an outing to Burleigh Head National Park or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also visit Point Danger at the southern border in Coolangatta or Springbrook National Park in the hinterland. Buildings show from the outside only, so you meet and talk with people outside each spot.
