How the Motor skill grows by level
You start at level 1 after earning your first 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 requires 1,000 more points, which brings your total to 1,100 points. The points needed per level increase steadily as you climb toward level 10.
The biggest jumps in required points happen in the early and middle levels. Level 3 asks for 1,680 points, and level 4 asks for 2,350 points. By level 6, you need 3,150 points for a single level, which pushes your total to 10,899 points.
The later levels require the most effort from your Sim. Moving from level 9 to level 10 takes 4,230 points. You finish the skill at level 10 with 26,199 total skill points.
Fastest ways to level the Motor skill
Emotions change how fast your child gains Motor skill points. Being Energized gives a 1.4 multiplier, while being Very Energized gives a 1.6 multiplier. Avoid building this skill when your Sim is Sad or Very Sad, as those emotions lower your multiplier to 0.8 and 0.6.
Specific traits and moodlets also boost your skill gain, and multiple boosts multiply together. The Being Tutored moodlet gives a 2.5 multiplier. You get a 1.5 multiplier from the Competitive trait, or from moodlets like Active Boost, Dedication, Perfected, and Playtime Flashback.
Other traits like Strong Physical Affinity and Moderate Physical Affinity give 1.4 and 1.3 multipliers. General skill boosts work here too. Snaggle Flustered multiplies gains by 4, while Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up multiply gains by 3.
What Motor levels unlock and the cheat
Early and middle levels unlock new interactions for your child. Level 2 unlocks The Missing Link, level 3 unlocks Ask For Typing Tips, and level 4 unlocks Hang Around. You unlock Hang Out at level 5, and the Flip interaction at level 6.
Levels 3 and 5 also unlock pumpkin carving interactions and recipes. At level 3, you can Carve Classic Pumpkin in 4 colors: Green, Orange, Pale Orange, and White. Level 5 lets you Carve Cat Pumpkin in those same 4 colors, while levels 7 through 10 do not gate any interactions.
