Thinking skill

The Thinking skill starts small and asks for more points at each rank. Level 1 needs 119 points, and level 2 adds 180 points for a total of 299. You can clear these early levels quickly.

The point jumps grow much larger after level 2. Level 3 asks for 280 new points, and level 4 asks for 360 new points. Reaching level 5 takes 500 points on its own, which brings the cumulative total to 1,439 points.

Your toddler's emotion changes how fast they earn skill points. Feeling Focused gives a 1.4 multiplier, and Very Focused gives a 1.6 multiplier. Other emotions actually slow you down, because Happy and Very Happy apply a 0.875 multiplier.

Negative emotions slow your progress even more. Angry and Sad drop the multiplier to 0.8, while Very Angry and Very Sad drop it to 0.6. If a toddler becomes Enraged, the multiplier falls to 0.4.

You can stack moodlets and traits to multiply skill gain further. The Omega Brain Boost moodlet multiplies gains by 2, and the Strong Mental Affinity trait multiplies them by 1.4. General skill boosts like Snaggle Flustered and Parental Guidance give multipliers of 4 and 3.

The first three levels of the Thinking skill do not unlock new interactions. At level 4, your toddler unlocks the Talk about Day interaction. At level 5, they can use Ask for Spelling Help and Spell Words.

You can skip the point grind with a cheat in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C or Cmd + Shift + C to open the cheat console. Type testingcheats true first, then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_Toddler_Thinking 5 to max the skill.
