How do you have a baby in inZOI?
You build a romantic bond, you move the two Zois into one household, and you ask for a baby after an intimate moment at the bed. The first try can fail. A pregnancy test then shows the result.
That is the short answer from the DTG Reviews guide of March 29, 2025. A patch in June 2025 added two more ways: adoption and medical birth. We opened these pages on October 13, 2026. The rules of a game change with each patch, so check the result in your own game.
This post lists the steps, the limits, and the rules that changed. It also lists the facts that we could not confirm.
What are the steps to get pregnant in inZOI?
The DTG Reviews guide gives seven steps.
- Build a romantic relationship with an other Zoi. Use the Romance category of the dialogue.
- Go on dates to raise the affection.
- Propose marriage. If the other Zoi accepts, the wedding can happen on the next day.
- Move both Zois into the same household. The guide says that both spouses must live together to try for a baby.
- Choose “Setting the Mood” in front of the bed.
- After the intimate moment, choose the option to propose a baby.
- The female Zoi takes a pregnancy test. A pop-up shows the result.
The guide says that a pregnancy is not certain on the first try. Plan for more than one try.
Do you need to be married to have a baby in inZOI?
In March 2025, yes. The DTG Reviews guide lists a romantic bond, a marriage, and one household as the requirements.
In June 2025, no. The Sims Community page about that patch states: “Zois can now give birth without getting married.” The patch also added age limits for pregnancies of NPCs, to stop pregnancies that nobody planned.
The page does not say if the baby option at the bed now works for every couple. It only says that a birth with no marriage is possible. If the option does not show in your game, the cause can be the age of a Zoi or the size of the household. Test with a married couple first, because that is the case that both sources describe.
How long does a pregnancy last in inZOI?
Three in-game days, according to the DTG Reviews guide. The guide also gives two other facts.
- The gender of the baby is random. You cannot choose it before the birth.
- A household can hold up to 8 Zois.
The household limit matters. A new baby is a new member of the household. If the household is full, plan for that before you try for a baby.
Can you adopt a child in inZOI?
Yes, since the June 2025 patch. The Sims Community page gives these facts.
- Open a computer or a laptop in the game.
- Choose “Adopt a Child” in the household menu.
- The Zois must meet the age and property requirements.
The page lists no marriage requirement for adoption. It does not give the exact age or the exact property rule. We did not find those numbers in the pages that we opened.
The March 2025 guide says that an adoption system was in development. That statement is now old. The June 2025 patch ended that wait.
What is medical birth in inZOI?
Medical birth is a way to make a child with no pregnancy at the bed. The Sims Community page describes it this way.
- You use the interaction “Create a Child with Medical Help” on a computer or a laptop.
- It costs 1,000 Mew. The page writes the currency as Mew.
- One Zoi can use it alone. The child then has the genetic traits of that Zoi.
- Two Zois can do it together. The child then reflects the traits of both.
The page does not list the genders that are allowed. Earlier, in March 2025, the DTG Reviews guide said that a natural pregnancy worked only for a man and a woman. We did not find a source that states the rule for medical birth by gender, so we do not state it here. Look at the interaction in your game to see who can use it.
What can go wrong?
These are the problems that the sources describe.
- The first try fails. Try again.
- The household is full at 8 Zois. A new child has no place.
- An old guide gives a rule that a patch has removed. The marriage rule is the best example.
The third problem is the most common. A guide from 2025 can be wrong in 2026. Look at the date of each guide before you follow it. The patch notes of April 29, 2026 changed jobs, leave, and pensions. We saw no change to babies in the page that we opened, but we did not read every patch.
What can we not confirm?
We could not open the PC Gamer guide, the guide of Esports.gg, or the wiki page about parenting. Their servers refused our request.
We therefore cannot confirm these facts.
- The exact age rules for adoption.
- Which gender pairs can use medical birth.
- How the child grows after the birth, and what the parent can do with the child.
- Any change to babies in the patches after June 2025.
Krafton, the studio of inZOI, publishes the official patch notes. Read them for the final answer. Third-party pages copy them, and a copy can have a mistake.
Is a baby in inZOI the same as a baby in The Sims 4?
No. The game systems differ. In The Sims 4, the base game gives three ways to have a baby: Try for Baby, a Science Baby, and adoption. We wrote the steps in how to have a baby in The Sims 4. In inZOI, the steps come from the bed, the computer, and the household menu.
