How to edit a Zoi in inZOI, and what stays locked

You have two main ways. Click your Zoi, choose Change Clothes, and then choose Style Yourself. Or go to a mirror in the house of your Zoi and choose Edit Appearance.

Both ways give you light edits. You cannot change the name, the age, the gender, or the traits of a Zoi after you create it. For a full edit, you make a new Zoi.

Our main source for the steps is a Gfinity guide from April 8, 2025. The game has had updates since then. We could not find a newer guide that we could open, so the menu names may differ in your version.

Method 1: Style Yourself

1. Click your Zoi.
2. Choose Change Clothes.
3. Choose Style Yourself. The edit menu opens.

Method 2: the mirror

1. Go to any mirror in the house of your Zoi.
2. Choose Edit Appearance.

Gfinity says the mirror is for “quick and simple changes.”

Method 3: Create a Family

If you have more than one Zoi, open the Create a Family menu. You manage and edit your Zois there. The guide says to use it when you want to switch between Zois.

The table follows the Gfinity guide. It is from April 2025, so test it in your own game.

1. Click the profile of your Zoi.
2. Choose the Zoi Card in the bottom right corner.
3. Choose a new Desired Life.
4. Update the likes, the dislikes, and the short-term goals.

Gfinity warns that these changes affect the interactions and the behavior of your Zoi for the rest of the game. Choose with care.

Make a new Zoi through Create a Family. The full tools are in the character creator. The Steam page says: “Choose from over 250 customization options to create your own unique Zoi.” It lists hair, skin, and physique, and also outfits, accessories, and nail art.

Inven Global played a demo at Gamescom 2024. The reviewer says that you can edit the face in detail. When you turn the face, markers show on the facial features. The same review says that the options include hairstyles, sleeve lengths, nails, age, and body shape. That was a demo, not the final game.

The Sims News, in April 2025, says inZOI has “much more advanced body and facial sculpting and customization options” than the sliders of The Sims 4. It also says The Sims 4 has more premade options, such as hairstyles and sports clothing. That is an opinion, not a count.

Yes, through Canvas. The Steam page calls it “our in-game sharing platform.” The Sims News says you can upload and download clothing, preset Zois, hairstyles, and full outfits inside the game. You do not need separate custom content files.

Inven Global reports that Canvas ranks accounts from Bronze to Diamond. It also reports over 100,000 shared creations in two days after the Character Studio opened. That figure is from 2024. For the plans of Canvas, read inZOI Canvastown.

The Steam page says you can use text prompts to make patterns and images for outfits, props, and furniture. The Sims News says inZOI uses AI in both object creation and Zoi creation. Inven Global saw an AI Texture tool for clothing patterns, but the tool was not open for testing in that demo.

We found no source that shows the steps of this tool in the current game. So we give no steps here. Open the Build or the customization menu in your own game to find it.

The Sims News says yes. It describes a Facial Capture feature. You scan your face to make a Zoi that copies your expressions and your speech in real time. The article calls it “one of the most immersive character creator features in a life-sim to date.”

That is a claim from an April 2025 article. It gives no steps. We did not find the menu path in a source that we could open, so we do not write steps for it.

The Steam page says that you can mix and match architectural parts to build a home. It names walls, roofs, and stairs. So the same game has tools for people, for clothes, and for houses.

Inven Global saw more of the build side in its Gamescom 2024 demo. In the area called Bliss Bay, players use starting funds to buy an empty lot and build a home. They can also move into a house that already exists. The reviewer also says that the City Simulator lets you control the weather and place objects and animals.

Both sources describe features at a point in time. The demo is old, and the Steam page can change. Check the page and the patch notes before you plan a build.

Maybe. The Steam page lists the release date as March 27, 2025. It labels the game as Early Access. The developers say they plan to keep improving it “for at least a year.” They also say that “optimization, game depth, and interaction systems will have room for improvement.”

So the limits in this guide may change in a patch. When a new version adds an edit tool, the Steam news for the game is the first place to read about it. If you find a menu that differs from our steps, trust your game, not our guide.

Open the Create a Family menu. It holds the full character creator, which the Steam page describes with more than 250 customization options.
