Does inZOI have multiplayer?
No. inZOI is a single-player game today. Wikipedia lists it as single-player. The studio tests small multiplayer sessions, but it has not released them.
This post lists what the studio has said and when it said it. It also explains what the plans mean for you if you want to play with a friend. We opened each source on October 3, 2026.

What did the studio say at launch?
inZOI went on sale in Early Access in March 2025. At that time, the game had no online mode. NME reports an answer from the Discord FAQ of the game. The studio wrote that it was “considering various multiplayer features, such as the ability to meet up with other online players or invite them over to your home.”
NME also quotes the director at a showcase. He said that, with enough feedback and demand from players, the team could get more specific ideas and start to implement them.
That was a conditional answer. The studio did not promise multiplayer. It said that player demand would decide.
What is on the 2026 roadmap?
In January 2026, the studio published a roadmap. Sims Community summarizes the multiplayer part of it. The roadmap calls the feature inZOI Online and divides it into steps.

A roadmap is a plan. It is not a release. We could not confirm that the steps for January to June shipped. The patch notes that we opened for September 2026 list no multiplayer item.
What does the newest news say?
The newest source that we found is a Sims Community post from September 18, 2026. It describes the October update. The post says that multiplayer is in small-scale tests and is not part of the October update.
The post lists four ideas that the studio tests:
- 20 or more players who live in one town at the same time.
- A housing system with many floors.
- Door locks, and a way to remove a visitor.
- Many players who build one house at the same time.
The post quotes the studio. It says that the team plans “to evaluate whether the experience of playing together in a town with other players offers genuine value.” It also quotes the director: the vast majority of the development team stays on single-player play, which is the base of everything that the team builds.
This differs from the January roadmap, which names large servers for October. The September post is newer, so trust it more. The studio seems to have slowed down the multiplayer plan to check if players want it.
What can you do with a friend today?
You cannot play one inZOI town together. You can still share. The Canvas tool in the game lets players share their creations. The Wikipedia page for inZOI says that more than 470,000 pieces of content were uploaded on the first day.
Your friend can download your house or your character. You then play your own copy. This is sharing, not playing together.
A video call is a weak substitute. One of you plays, and the other watches the shared screen. It costs nothing.
Do other life sims have multiplayer?
Paralives is also single-player. Its Steam page describes a single-player game with family sharing. Family sharing lets people in one Steam family use the same game. It does not put them in one world.
EA describes Project Rene as a social multiplayer game. It is not on sale. Read Sims 5 release date for what EA has said.

How can you tell a real release from a rumor?
Many pages write about inZOI multiplayer. Some of them repeat the plan as if it were a fact. Use four checks before you believe a page.
- Find the date of the page. A page from 2025 is older than the roadmap of 2026.
- Find the source. A page that quotes the studio is better than a page that quotes another page.
- Look for the words “plan”, “test”, and “evaluate”. They mean that the feature is not released.
- Read the patch notes of the newest update. A released feature appears there.
The patch notes of September 3, 2026 list new features such as vacations, scuba diving, and a dining experience. They list no multiplayer item. This is the best evidence that multiplayer has not shipped.
Two news sites, PC Gamer and GamesRadar, ran stories on inZOI multiplayer. We could not load them, so we do not cite them. We do not state what they say.
What would multiplayer change for a life sim?
A life sim with other players is a different game. In a single-player game, the world waits for you. You can stop for an hour, and nothing happens. In an online town, other players act while you are away.
The studio tests door locks and a way to remove a visitor. Those tools show the new problem: a player can enter a home that belongs to another player. A shared town needs rules.
This is why a slow plan is not bad news. The studio says that it must check whether play in a town with other players has value. It is a design question as much as a technical one.
Where does LifeSim fit?
LifeSim does not replace inZOI for a group of friends. You play one life, in one city on a real map of Earth. The people that you meet are run by the game. They are not other players.

Should you wait for inZOI multiplayer?
Do not buy inZOI for multiplayer. Buy it for what it does now: a single-player life sim with detailed characters.
Check three things before you decide. First, read the patch notes of the newest update. Second, read the Steam page for the words “multiplayer” and “online”. Third, wait for the studio to say a date. A plan with no date can move.
The roadmap shows that the plan moved once already. The September post says that the studio checks the value of multiplayer before it builds more. That is a good sign for caution.
