inZOI Photo Mode

How to open inZOI Photo Mode, what each control does, and where the game saves your photos.

Click the camera icon at the top center of the screen. Aim the camera with the mouse. Press the round shutter button. A preview appears, and the game asks if you want to save the picture.

We opened two pages for this post. One is a Gfinity guide from April 2025. The other is a Steam thread from August 2024. Both are old, and inZOI gets updates. Check each step in your own game. You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a browser life sim, and we say where our game does not fit.

Gfinity lists these controls. We list them as the guide states them.

ControlWhat it does
Time of dayChanges the light for the shot
OrientationPortrait for a regular picture, or Landscape for a wide shot
Selfie Mode, Play Camera ModeSwitches between a photo of your Zoi and a photo of the world around it
Screen ratioChanges the shape of the picture
ZoomA slider for a close-up or a wide view
Field of ViewChanges the perspective, for a dramatic look
Depth of FieldMoves the focus to the part that you want to show
FiltersOne of nine filters to style the picture
Background removalSeparates your Zoi from the background
Poses and expressionsChanges the pose and the face of your Zoi
AI EmotesAdds more lively motion to a shot

Use the Photo Folder icon at the bottom left of Photo Mode. It opens the folder for you. Gfinity says that the pictures are mainly in the game’s Documents folder on your PC.

The Steam thread gives a different path. The person who asked the question said a button in Photo Mode opens the folder, under %AppData%. One reply gave this path: C:\Users\AppData\Local\inZOI_Character_Studio\Saved\Photo. In March 2025, another person wrote that this folder was empty. So the old path may be wrong now.

The rule: click the Photo Folder icon first. Do not search the disk by hand.

We do not know. No page that we opened says it. Do not assume it. If a Zoi is in the middle of an action, test Photo Mode in a quiet scene first.

Check that your PC can run the game first. Read the inZOI system requirements. Then read is inZOI worth it. We did not test how Photo Mode performs on a weak PC, and no page that we opened tests it.

No page of ours describes a photo mode. This is a place where LifeSim does not fit. LifeSim is a browser game on a real map of Earth. It is about the people you meet and the words you say, not about staged pictures.

If you want to pose a character in perfect light, stay with inZOI. If you want a life that goes on when you stop looking, read how LifeSim works. See also games like inZOI.

  • The key bindings. Pages we did not open showed some in search results. We give none.
  • Whether the game pauses in Photo Mode. No opened page says it.
  • The exact save path today. The two pages we opened disagree.
  • Changes since April 2025. inZOI has had updates, and we did not check them for Photo Mode.
  • The nine filters by name. Gfinity gives the number only.
