Does inZOI have pets?

No. In the sources we opened, inZOI has no pets that you can own. You cannot adopt a cat or a dog and bring it into the home of a Zoi.

The game does have animals. You can add wild animals to the city. They walk around the streets. They are scenery, not members of a household.

Pets are a plan, not a feature. We found no date for them. This guide shows what the game has today, what the developers said, and where you can play with pets now.

Which animals can you see in inZOI?

Destructoid wrote a guide on 28 March 2025, the day that early access began. It says that players can add animals to their world, but cannot adopt a pet.

You add the animals in the city editor. The path in the guide is Edit City, then City Appearance, then Animals. You choose up to three animal types. You also set how many animals appear.

The guide lists these animal types:

cats and dogs
deer and pandas
raccoons, squirrels, and foxes
crocodiles

Destructoid says that you cannot interact with these animals. You can walk up to them. That is all. A Zoi cannot feed a wild cat as a pet owner would feed it.

This guide is from the first day of early access. The game has changed since then. Open the city editor in your own copy to see the current list.

Will inZOI get pets?

The same Destructoid guide quotes the Discord FAQ of the developers. The FAQ says that pets are not in the game at launch. It says that pets are a high priority for future updates. It gives no date.

We looked for a newer answer. TheSimsTree wrote about the plan of the game director, Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim, for the second year of early access. The goals in that article are the career system, the school system, a karma system, prisons, and vehicles. The article does not name pets.

The same article says that the full 1.0 release is planned for early 2027. It also lists a wishlist of about 200,000 items. The director says that he could not build all of it alone.

So the honest answer is this: the developers called pets a priority in 2025, and we found no 2026 date for them. A list of goals that omits pets does not mean that pets are cancelled. It means that pets are not on the list that we read.

What do players say about pets in inZOI?

The official forum has a thread called “Pets in inZOI”. Players started it in August 2025. They are not developers. Their posts are wishes, not facts.

The posts ask for many things: dog breeds, horses, hamsters, lizards, and farm animals such as pigs and cows. One player asks for an adoption centre. One player wants dogs that can work as police or firefighters.

One post from September 2026 says that animals already appear in the cities, and that pet items such as cat trees are in the game, but that cats cannot yet be owned. We could not confirm this claim in an official source. Treat it as a player report.

The thread page also shows the title of a related topic that mentions an “upcoming Pets DLC”. The page gives no details, and we found no developer statement about it. Do not plan a purchase on that title.

Should you wait for pets before you buy inZOI?

Do not buy inZOI for pets. Buy it for what it does today. Steam lists the game at $39.99 and marks it as Early Access. The developers say that the game is discounted during early access.

Steam shows English reviews as Mostly Positive, with 79 percent positive from 14,516 reviews. Recent reviews are Very Positive. These numbers change every day, so open the page for the current figures.

Paralives is a life sim in early access. Steam lists it at $39.99. The developers say that pets are planned before version 1.0. Read the patch notes of each update. A pet feature needs a patch note. If the note does not name pets, the update has no pets.

Be careful with videos and sites that promise a “pets update” with a date. The developers have not given a date in any source that we opened. A site that gives a date has no source for it, or it repeats a rumour.

What can you do with animals in inZOI today?

Use the animals as scenery. Add cats and dogs to make the streets feel alive. Add deer or foxes to make a park feel wild. You set the density, so you can have a few or many.
