inZOI system requirements

The minimum and recommended specs for inZOI on Windows and Mac, how to check yours, and what to do if it is too weak.

On Windows, the minimum is a graphics card of the RTX 2060 class and 12 GB of RAM. The recommended setup is a card of the RTX 3070 class and 16 GB of RAM. These are the values on the inZOI Steam page, which we opened on October 2, 2026.

On Mac, the minimum is an Apple M1 chip and 16 GB of RAM. The recommended chip is an M3. The game needs 40 to 60 GB of storage, depending on the platform.

This post explains how to read those numbers, how to check your own computer, and what to do if it is too weak. You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a browser game, and we say where it does not replace inZOI.

SystemLevelGraphics or chipRAM
WindowsMinimumRTX 206012 GB
WindowsRecommendedRTX 307016 GB
MacMinimumApple M116 GB
MacRecommendedApple M316 GB

The Steam page also lists storage of 40 to 60 GB. We did not copy the other lines, such as the processor and the operating system version. Read them on the Steam page, because the studio can change them with each patch.

The minimum is the weakest setup that the studio says can run the game. The recommended setup is the one that the studio says gives a good experience.

The Steam page lists the numbers by name. It does not list a frame rate for each level. We do not give a frame rate, because we did not find one in a source that we opened.

A computer at the minimum level can run the game, but you must accept low settings. You can expect a lower frame rate in a busy city. A computer at the recommended level gives you more room.

Both levels are the studio's estimates. They are not a guarantee. A game in Early Access changes with each patch, so the numbers can move.

On Windows

  1. Press the Windows key and the R key together.
  2. Type dxdiag and press Enter.
  3. Read the Memory line on the System tab. This is your RAM.
  4. Open the Display tab. The Name line shows your graphics card.

On Mac

  1. Open the Apple menu.
  2. Select About This Mac.
  3. Read the Chip line and the Memory line.

An Intel Mac does not have an Apple chip. The Steam page lists Apple M1 as the minimum, so an Intel Mac does not meet the minimum.

How do you compare your graphics card?

Compare the name of your card with the RTX 2060 and the RTX 3070. A newer card from the same brand is usually stronger. A card from a weaker family may not be. When you are unsure, search for a benchmark of your card next to the RTX 2060.

Yes, for the recommended Windows setup and for both Mac levels. The Steam page lists 16 GB for those. The Windows minimum is 12 GB.

A computer with 8 GB of RAM does not meet the Windows minimum. Do not expect a good result on it.

Yes. The Steam page lists 40 to 60 GB. Compare this with The Sims 4. Its Steam page lists a much smaller game, and we wrote about the difference in inZOI vs The Sims 4.

Keep some free space beyond the listed size. A game also needs room for patches and save files. The Steam page does not give a number for that space, so we do not give one.

These steps are general advice. The Steam page does not list them for inZOI.

Close other programs before you start the game. A web browser with many tabs uses a large part of your RAM.

Free some disk space. A full disk slows a computer. The game needs 40 to 60 GB, and it also needs room for patches.

Start with low graphics settings. Raise them one step at a time, and watch the frame rate.

Update the driver of your graphics card. A new driver can fix problems in a new game.

If the game still runs badly, do not buy it for a computer that is below the minimum. Look at the choices in the next section.

You have four choices.

  1. Play a lighter game. Stardew Valley lists 2 GB of RAM and 256 MB of video memory as the minimum on its Steam page. The Sims 4 is also lighter than inZOI.
  2. Wait for the PS5 version. The studio plans it for the first half of 2027. Read the inZOI PS5 release date.
  3. Upgrade your computer. Do this only if you want other games that need the same power.
  4. Play a game that runs in a browser.

Before you buy inZOI, read is inZOI free? It lists the price and the free content in Early Access.

They can. inZOI is in Early Access. The Steam page says that the developers plan to improve the game for at least a year, and that the plan can change.

A new patch can add content, such as a new city. A larger game can need more storage or a stronger computer. Read the Steam page again before you buy. The page that we read on October 2, 2026 is only a record of that day.

The Mac version is newer than the Windows version. Wikipedia lists the macOS release as August 20, 2025, and the Windows release as March 28, 2025. Steam lists the Early Access launch as March 27, 2025. The sources differ by one day. We did not find the cause, so we show both dates.

LifeSim runs in a browser. It is free, and it has no in-app purchases. You open the page and start a life in a city on the real map of Earth.

It is not a copy of inZOI. It has no character creator with 250 options and no house building. It has people who answer in their own words and remember what you said. If looks matter most to you, check your computer and play inZOI. If you want a life sim today with no setup, try LifeSim.

Can inZOI run on a laptop?

Yes, if the laptop meets the numbers above. Check the graphics card and the RAM of the laptop.

Can inZOI run on a Mac?

Yes. The Steam page lists Mac with an Apple M1 chip as the minimum. Wikipedia lists the macOS release as August 20, 2025.

How big is inZOI?

The Steam page lists 40 to 60 GB, depending on the platform.

Can I play inZOI on a console?

Not yet. The studio plans a PS5 version in the first half of 2027.
