Lagos Life is a free life simulation game that runs in your browser. You live a virtual life in Lagos, Nigeria. Its address is lagoslife.app, and there is nothing to download.

A Nigerian developer known online as Shalom made it. Reports spell the surname two ways: WeeTracker writes Mathew, and Techloy and Graphic Online write Rayhamen. The game launched on October 1, 2026, Nigeria's Independence Day.

WeeTracker quotes the developer on where the idea came from: “I grew up playing The Sims 3 and always wondered what it would be like if the Sims lived in a world inspired by ours.”

You make a character and pick a start. There are two:

• Nepo: you start with money and connections.
• Lapo: you start with little money, microloans, and a hustle.

Then you build the life. You take jobs and earn money. You buy food to get your energy back, pay rent, and save. You can buy property and move around the city. Condia says there is no single story that every player must follow.

Lagos Life is online and shared. You meet other players in the same city. The game also runs in real time, so its day follows the real day. Players visit real Lagos places, such as Amala Shitta and the Quilox club, and hear songs by new Nigerian artists in the virtual clubs.

Yes. WeeTracker calls it a free browser game, with no download and no app store. The game earns money in other ways. WeeTracker reports that brands rent virtual billboards, and artists pay to have their music played in the clubs.

WeeTracker also reports early revenue of about $46,900 in the first four days. That figure comes from the developer's own posts on X.

A lot, very fast. WeeTracker reports more than 1 million players in the first three days. By October 5, 2026, it reports more than 2 million players in total and more than 145,000 people online at the same time.

The fast growth caused problems too. The game went down on October 2, and the developer gave players virtual cash to make up for it. Some players found a bug that made money, and the developer reset those balances.

Yes. WeeTracker reports that Abuja and Port Harcourt were added as cities after the launch. That is why many people now search for an “Abuja life game”.

Techloy reports that the parent company of the game is Vatar. Vatar raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding at a $10 million valuation. Techloy names investors such as Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola and the co-founders of Mono.

The game also has partners. Techloy says that the food delivery app Chowdeck shows up as an app on the phone inside the game.

Lagos Life came at the same time as other small Nigerian web games. Techloy names Danfo Run, an endless runner set in Lagos by Opeyemi Adeniran. In it you drive a danfo, the yellow minibus of Lagos. WeeTracker calls it Lagos Run, and says it helped inspire Lagos Life.

WeeTracker also reports that a Port Harcourt life sim came out after Lagos Life, as a copy of the idea.
