Is there a Memphis life simulator game?

Yes. LifeSim puts you in the real Memphis on a 3D map of the real streets. You create a character, talk to neighbors in your own words, and live day by day. It is free and runs in your browser.

Life in Memphis

Memphis sits on the Fourth Chickasaw Bluff above the Mississippi River in southwestern Tennessee. Known as the Home of the Blues, the city blends Southern hospitality with the grit of a major freight town. Daily life revolves around front porches, pork barbecue spots like Central BBQ, and live music on Beale Street.

Where to live in Memphis

Cooper-Young

Historic Craftsman bungalows, independent record stores, and patio cafes in Midtown.

South Main Arts District

Converted warehouse lofts, cobblestone streets, and art galleries downtown.

Harbor Town

A walkable neighborhood on Mud Island with quiet streets and riverfront park trails.

Central Gardens

Grand early-twentieth-century homes along wide, tree-lined boulevards near Overton Park.

East Memphis

Shaded suburban streets alongside busy commercial corridors and corporate offices.

A sample life: a musician's first week in Midtown

Marcus, 25, moves to a historic bungalow in Cooper-Young to start a blues band. He sets two life goals: meet local musicians and visit every club on Beale Street. On his first morning, he searches the map for Gibson's Donuts and walks there.

In the afternoon, a neighbor texts Marcus and invites him to Overton Park. They walk the trails together and talk in their own words about dry-rubbed and wet-sauced ribs. The neighbor remembers Marcus's answers and keeps a journal of the chat.

On Friday, a house party happening appears on the map in the South Main Arts District. Marcus goes there, meets a drummer, and starts a group text thread. The day ends with a recap of his moments.

Work and jobs in Memphis

Transportation, medical research, and tourism drive the economy in Memphis. Major employers include FedEx Corporation at the airport, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and AutoZone. Many people work as air cargo handlers, pediatric oncology researchers, nurses, or hospitality workers.

You can write any of these jobs into your character text box at the start. LifeSim does not use a career ladder, promotions, or job performance scores. Instead, the people you meet know your job and talk to you about it.

Neighborhoods for students, families, and artists

Different parts of the city fit different character stories. Students often live near the University of Memphis, Rhodes College, or the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Families find grand homes on tree-lined streets in Central Gardens or quiet suburban blocks in East Memphis.

Artists and young newcomers often pick the South Main Arts District or the Broad Avenue Arts District. If you want a budget-friendly starter home for your story, write in Berclair, Nutbush, or Parkway Village. Type the neighborhood name into your prompt, and the game places you on those real streets.

Famous Memphis places to search on the map

You can search for real landmarks and plan outings there with friends. Go to Sun Studio on Union Avenue or the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in South Memphis. You can also visit the National Civil Rights Museum in South Main or the Memphis Pyramid by the river.

Buildings show from the outside only, and there are no interiors or rooms. For outdoor trips, invite your cast to Shelby Farms Park in East Memphis or the Big River Crossing bridge. You walk there together on the 3D map and talk as a group.
