A sample life: a nurse's first month

Elena, 27, starts a new life as a registered nurse living in Monte Vista. She sets two life goals: make close friends in the city and visit every Spanish colonial mission. She edits her cast to add a neighbor who works at Trinity University.

In week one, Elena searches the map for a taco shop to get breakfast tacos before her shift. She chats in her own words with the cashier, who remembers her order the next morning. On Sunday, her neighbor texts her to get barbacoa and Big Red together.

In week three, a house party happening appears on the map in King William. Elena goes there, meets a software engineer from Rackspace Technology, and adds him to a group text thread. Each day ends with a recap, and her new friends remember the stories she tells.

A day in San Antonio in LifeSim

Say you play as a 32-year-old cybersecurity specialist living in Southtown. In the morning, you check your daily to-do list and search for an independent coffee shop on South Alamo Street. You walk there on the 3D map and talk to a local painter outside the building.

In the afternoon, a friend texts you to plan an outing to The Pearl. You invite two coworkers, pick the historic brewery complex on the map, and walk there as a group. You talk about the San Antonio Spurs and say Go Spurs Go to a passerby.

That night, a live music happening pops up along the St. Mary's Strip on North St. Mary's Street. You join the crowd, talk to the band, and watch your cash and relationships change from the activity. The day ends with a summary of your moments.

Seasons and weather in San Antonio

Famous places to find on the map

You can use place search to find famous spots across the city. Search for The Alamo or San Fernando Cathedral in Downtown to meet people in the center. Walk along the San Antonio River Walk or visit the Tower of the Americas in Hemisfair park.

For food and markets, search for Historic Market Square, also called El Mercado, or the Pullman Market at The Pearl. Remember that buildings in LifeSim show from the outside only, with no interiors. If you want a long walk, visit San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and see Mission San José.
