Is there a Texas life simulator game?

Texas life simulator

Yes. LifeSim puts you in the real Texas on a 3D map with real streets and weather. You make a character, pick any city or town, and live there day by day. It is free and runs in the browser on phones and desktops with no download.

Start a life in Texas

Life in Texas

Daily life in Texas runs across big metro areas, coastal ports, limestone hills, and high plains. Most people commute by pickup truck or SUV on highways and parallel frontage roads, which Houstonians call feeder roads. A life here can be a nurse in Houston, a software worker in Austin, or a rancher near Lubbock.

Corporate finance towers in Dallas alongside historic cattle stockyards and western museums in Fort Worth.

State government offices, university campuses, software companies, city parks, and live music venues.

San Antonio

Daily life, work, and holidays in Texas

Office and government workers usually work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outdoor construction, ranching, and oilfield crews start work at dawn to beat the summer heat. Major employers include the Texas Medical Center and NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, and military bases in San Antonio.

Family life in suburbs and towns centers on youth sports, school events, and weekend backyard cookouts. In autumn, Friday night high school football games draw whole communities to packed stadiums. During hot months, families stay in air-conditioned spaces at midday and visit pools or shaded parks in the evening.

Along with federal holidays, Texas observes Texas Independence Day on March 2 and San Jacinto Day on April 21. Juneteenth falls on June 19 and started in Galveston. People also celebrate Fiesta in San Antonio, the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

A first month in Austin and the Hill Country

Say you start as Mateo, a 25-year-old bilingual guitarist in El Paso who moves to Austin. You write this in the character box, and the game places you on the real 3D map. You set two life goals: record an album and make close friends in the music scene.

In week one, you search the map for a local café and walk there to meet your new neighbor. You talk in your own words without dialogue menus, and the neighbor remembers your story later. A coworker from your day job texts you on their own to join a group thread.

By week three, a live karaoke night and a house party appear as happenings on the map. You plan an outing to a park with three friends, walk there together, and talk as a group. Each day ends with a recap, and your cash and relationships change based on your chats and activities.

Small towns, ranches, and the open plains

You do not have to live in a big metro area in LifeSim. Any named town works on the 3D map, from the Gulf Coast to the Panhandle. In West Texas, towns like Lubbock, Amarillo, and Midland sit among flat plains, cotton fields, wind farms, and oil pumpjacks.

In the Texas Hill Country, small towns sit near limestone bluffs, spring-fed rivers, peach orchards, and rolling ranches. Each spring, families stop along country highways to take photos in fields of blooming bluebonnets. In the game, you can edit your cast of family and neighbors and walk the real streets of these towns.

Barbecue, Tex-Mex, and going out in Texas

Mornings often start on the go with breakfast tacos from drive-thru stands or food trucks. Many people also stop at neighborhood donut shops for sweet fruit kolaches or savory sausage klobasniky. For lunch and dinner, people gather on restaurant patios for Tex-Mex fajitas, cheese enchiladas, and chile con queso.

Roadside smokehouses serve Central Texas barbecue, including post-oak smoked beef brisket, pork ribs, and jalapeño-cheddar sausage on butcher paper. Small-town diners serve chicken-fried steak with cream gravy, beanless Texas chili, pecan pie, and Blue Bell ice cream. In LifeSim, you can search for real restaurants on the map and walk to the outside of the buildings with friends.

How it works

  1. Describe your character in one text box. Name a city or town in Texas in the text.
  2. The game reads the place from your text and puts you there, on a 3D map of the real streets.
  3. Live day by day. Go to real places, meet people, and talk to them in your own words.

Questions

Can I live in any Texas city or small town?

Yes. Name a city or town in your character text, and the game puts you in the real place. You can choose big hubs like Houston and Dallas, or small towns in the Texas Hill Country.

Can I drive a pickup truck on Texas highways in LifeSim?

No. LifeSim does not have vehicles you drive. If you want to haul cattle and oilfield equipment across 30 Texas cities, play American Truck Simulator.

Can I play as a high school football player or a ranch hand?

Yes. Write your age, job, and story into the text box when you start. There are no sports mini-games or skill bars, so your life focuses on chats, outings, and daily goals.

In Texas, fixin' to means you are about to do something right away. People also use y'all to address a group in both casual and work settings.

Are there other video games set in Texas?
