Is there a game where you can live in Thailand?
Thailand life simulator
Yes. LifeSim puts you in the real Thailand, on a 3D map of the real streets and towns. You make a character, talk to neighbors in your own words, and live day by day. It is free and runs in your browser with no download.
Start a life in ThailandLife in Thailand
Daily life in Thailand mixes office work and factory jobs with late shifts at night markets and street stalls. Many people live in multi-generational homes, eat takeaway street food with a spoon and fork, and value staying calm in public. A life here can be a student at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok or a cafe owner in Chiang Mai.
Where to live in Thailand
Bangkok
High-rise offices, heavy traffic, street food carts, and huge air-conditioned malls.
Chiang Mai
Historic walled neighborhoods, hundreds of temples, university students, and a slower pace.
Phuket
Thailand's largest island, with beach hotels, boat jobs, and Sino-Portuguese streets in Old Town.
Khon Kaen
A university and trade center in the northeast, rooted in village ties and sticky rice farming.
Ayutthaya
A river island north of Bangkok with ancient brick temple ruins, river markets, and electronics factories.
Hat Yai
A southern trade hub near Malaysia known for morning dim sum markets and a mix of cultures.
Customs and local words for your character
Thai daily life values calm behavior and respect for elders. People greet each other with the wai by pressing their palms together and bowing slightly. You remove your shoes before you enter a home or a temple.
You can use real Thai words when you talk to people in the game. Add khrap at the end of a sentence if you play a man, or kha if you play a woman. Say sawatdi for hello, mai pen rai for no problem, and sabai sabai when you feel relaxed.
Family ties shape many lives here. Grandparents often live in the same house, and adult children go home for the Songkran water festival in April. You can edit your cast to add parents or grandparents to your life.
Small towns and the Thai countryside
You do not have to stay in the big cities. Every named town in Thailand is on the 3D map. You can start a life in a quiet mountain village in Chiang Rai or a farming town in Isan.
In provincial towns, people often work in rice or rubber farming, food processing, or small family shops. Residents get around on motorbikes or ride in the back of a Songthaew, a shared pickup truck taxi.
In LifeSim, you type the name of any town into your character text, and you start there. You can search the map for the local market, a school, or a river pier and walk there.
A sample life: a vendor in Bangkok
Niran, 22, leaves a family rice farm in Khon Kaen to start a food stall in Bangkok. Niran sets two life goals: save money and make five close friends in the neighborhood.
In the first week, Niran searches the map for a busy street near a station and goes there each morning. A neighbor stops to chat about Niran's grilled pork skewers, called Moo Ping, and remembers Niran the next day. Cash goes up and down with daily activities and chats.
On Saturday, a birthday drinks happening appears on the map, and Niran joins the group. By the second week, a regular customer invites Niran to a group text thread to plan an outing. Each day ends with a recap of the moments they shared.
Street food, night markets, and going out
Many urban apartments in Thailand have very small kitchens because people buy street food every day. Vendors sell Pad Kra Pao, Som Tum, and Khao Man Gai from open-air carts with plastic stools. People eat rice dishes with a fork and a spoon, and they use chopsticks for Guay Teow noodle soup.
In LifeSim, there is no cooking mini-game. Instead, you use food and markets as places to meet people and build relationships. You can search the 3D map for a night market, a shophouse restaurant, or a mall food court.
Plan an outing, invite your friends or coworkers, and walk to a restaurant together. You talk as a group in your own words, and your friends remember the dinner later.

How it works
- Describe your character in one text box. Name a city or town in Thailand in the text.
- The game reads the place from your text and puts you there, on a 3D map of the real streets.
- Live day by day. Go to real places, meet people, and talk to them in your own words.
Questions
Can I live in Bangkok or Chiang Mai in the game?
Yes. You can write any Thai city or town in your character description. The game puts you on the real 3D map of that place.
Can I ride the BTS Skytrain or drive a Tuk-Tuk?
No. LifeSim does not have vehicles you drive or trains you ride. You search for real stations, markets, or beaches on the map and go there directly.
Is the game in the Thai language?
No. LifeSim is in English only. People talk to you in English, and the streets and cities keep their real names.
How does the university admission system work in Thailand?
In the real Thailand, high school seniors in Matthayom 6 apply to universities through the centralized TCAS system. You can write a student preparing for TCAS into your character story, and people will ask about your exams.
Are there other games set in Thailand?
Yes. Home Sweet Home and ARAYA are first-person horror games by Thai studios that do stealth and spooky buildings well. Hitman and Tomb Raider: Underworld also have action levels set in Thailand.
