Is there an Italy life simulator game?
Italy life simulator
Yes. LifeSim puts you in the real Italy, on a 3D map with real streets and places. You describe your character, pick a city or town, and live there day by day. It is free and runs in your browser with no download.
Start a life in ItalyLife in Italy
Daily life in Italy follows meal times, family routines, and neighborhood walks. Many mornings start at a local bar with an espresso and a sweet cornetto, while shops often close after lunch for a midday rest called riposo. People dress well for the early evening stroll, known as la passeggiata, and gather for multi-generational Sunday lunches.
Where to live in Italy
Rome
The capital city, with jobs in government and tourism, ancient ruins, and outdoor dining in piazzas.
Milan
The financial and fashion center, known for corporate offices, a modern metro, and evening aperitivo along the Navigli canals.
Florence
Renaissance art, artisan craft workshops in the historic center, and nearby hills with vineyards and olive groves.
Naples
A dense port city near Mount Vesuvius, with narrow alleys, espresso bars, and wood-fired pizzerias.
Venice
An island city with no cars, where residents walk over bridges and meet at canal-side wine bars called bacari.
Bologna
A university city with covered walkways called portici, a large student crowd, and rich food traditions.
A first month as a student in Bologna
Elena, 19, moves from a southern coastal village to Bologna to study architecture. She writes her character in one text box and starts under the covered portici. She sets two life goals: pass her public oral exams, called esami orali, and make close friends.
Every morning, she searches the map for a neighborhood bar and walks there for a cornetto and an espresso. The barista remembers her name and asks about her classes. In the evening, she works a shift serving drinks during aperitivo.
In week two, a classmate texts her on a group thread to plan an outing. They pick a piazza on the map, walk there together, and talk as a group. Each day ends with a recap, and her friends keep a journal of the memories.
School and work in Italy
School in Italy is free and mandatory from ages 6 to 16. At 14, students pick a five-year high school, like an academic Liceo or an Istituto Tecnico, ending with the Esame di Maturità. Many schools run from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so students go home for lunch, called pranzo.
Public universities offer a three-year Laurea Triennale and a two-year Laurea Magistrale. In the work world, the north has manufacturing, automotive, and fashion jobs, while tourism and agriculture run nationwide. Many small family businesses close from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for riposo, the midday rest.
LifeSim has no salary, bills, or career ladder. You write your job or school into your character prompt, and your daily activities and chats change your cash.
Which Italian city to pick
Pick Rome if you want a life in government, media, or tourism among ancient ruins and lively piazzas. You can search the map for a trattoria and meet friends for Pasta alla Carbonara or Cacio e Pepe. Pick Milan for a fast routine in finance or design, with evening walks along the Navigli canals.
Choose Naples for dense alleys near Mount Vesuvius, historic pizzerias serving Pizza Margherita, and loud street life. Choose Venice to live on a car-free island where you walk over bridges and meet neighbors at small wine bars called bacari.
If you want industrial history and grand cafés at the foot of the Alps, start in Turin. In any city, you can edit your cast to add a boss, a partner, or grandparents for Sunday lunch.
Small towns and the Italian countryside
You do not have to pick a big city. Any named town in Tuscany, Umbria, Puglia, or Sicily works on the 3D map. You can play a corporate worker from Milan who moves to a hilltop village to run a family restaurant.
In small towns, daily life follows local customs. People dress well for la passeggiata, an early evening stroll through the main piazza to greet neighbors before a late dinner. Locals stop at a tabaccheria, marked with a big T sign, to buy bus tickets and official stamps.
In August, during the Ferragosto holiday, city residents head to coastal beach clubs or mountain villages. You can search the map for a real coastal town, plan an outing to the beach, or use desktop build mode to place a new 3D building on your street.

How it works
- Describe your character in one text box. Name a city or town in Italy in the text.
- The game reads the place from your text and puts you there, on a 3D map of the real streets.
- Live day by day. Go to real places, meet people, and talk to them in your own words.
Questions
Can I live in any Italian city or town in LifeSim?
Yes. The 3D map covers all of Earth. Write any city or village in your character description, or search for it by hand.
Can I ride a Vespa or take the Frecciarossa train?
No. LifeSim does not have vehicles you drive or trains you ride. For a narrative driving game set on the Italian coast, play Wheels of Aurelia.
Is the game in Italian?
No. LifeSim is in English only. Characters talk to you in English, while streets and cities keep their real names.
Can I run a trattoria or cook pasta in a mini-game?
No, there are no cooking mini-games or interior rooms. You can write that you own a trattoria, go to the building outside, and talk with your customers.
What is riposo in Italy?
Riposo is the traditional midday rest. Many small shops and family businesses close between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM for lunch, then reopen until 8:00 PM.
What other games let me explore Italy?
Assassin's Creed II reconstructs Renaissance Florence and Venice for action and exploration. Father and Son is a 2D story game set in modern Naples.
