Crews start before dawn at the truck depot. Drivers inspect brakes and hydraulics on rear-loaders, automated side-loaders, or front-loaders. Loaders wear high-visibility vests, puncture-resistant gloves, and steel-toe boots.

On the route, throwers hook wheeled toters onto mechanical lifters and toss bags into the open hopper. They pull levers to cycle the hydraulic packer blade, watching for broken glass or lithium batteries. When the truck is full, they weigh it at a transfer station scale house and dump the load.

In the United States, municipal workers pass civil service exams, and drivers earn a CDL. In the United Kingdom, drivers hold a Category C LGV licence. In Germany, specialists complete a three-year Ausbildung as a Fachkraft für Kreislauf- und Abfallwirtschaft.

Describe your character in one text box with a name, age, job, and city. Write "Marcus, 28, a DSNY sanitation loader in New York, USA, paired with a retiring veteran driver." Or try "Elena, 34, a night-shift collector in San Francisco, USA, who rescues discarded art from dumpsters."

You can also play in cities with unique waste systems. Write "Matteo, 24, a collector for Veritas in Venice, Italy, who pushes a handcart over stone bridges to compactor boats." You can edit your crew partner or depot supervisor in your cast list.

Marcus starts his week in New York with a to-do list item to finish his dawn route before noon. On Tuesday, he spots a shoebox of vintage photos in the hopper and saves it from the blade. He sets a life goal to find the widow on his route who lost the keepsakes.

After the shift, his driver texts him an invite for coffee at a real diner using place search. On Friday, they join a group text with a rival crew and plan an outing to a park.

Recycling Center Simulator lets you collect waste in a van and run warehouse sorting machines. LifeSim does not have driving or machinery mini-games, so it focuses on the human story and neighborhood routines.

Time moves day by day in LifeSim, and each evening ends with a recap of your moments. The people on your route and your crewmates keep a journal of past events. If you help a neighbor or argue with your boss at the yard, they remember what you said.

You can play in Tokyo near the Shibuya incineration plant, or in Taipei where evening trucks play classical music. As years pass, your character ages through life stages and can mentor new rookies before retirement.
