Is there a UK life simulator game?

UK life simulator

Yes. LifeSim is a British life simulator that puts you on a real 3D map of the United Kingdom. You create a character, choose any city or village, and talk to locals in your own words. It is free and runs in your browser with no download.

Life in the United Kingdom

Most people in the United Kingdom live in terraced or semi-detached houses with small gardens, or in city flats. Weekday life follows 9-to-5 office hours with quick supermarket meal deals for lunch, followed by an evening meal called dinner, tea, or supper. Weekends and Monday bank holidays revolve around Sunday morning football, walking the dog in local parks, and meeting friends at the pub.

Where to live in the United Kingdom

London

Distinct local boroughs, commuting on the Underground, and free museums and royal parks.

Manchester

Red-brick warehouse flats, rainy weather, football culture, and live music venues.

Edinburgh

Stone tenements across the medieval Old Town and Georgian New Town, with summer arts festivals.

Glasgow

Victorian streets, a circular Subway, music venues, and friendly, direct locals.

Cardiff

Bilingual Welsh-English street signs, Victorian shopping arcades, a busy bay, and rugby union.

The Cotswolds

Honey-colored stone villages, narrow country lanes, farm shops, and historic walking trails.

How other games handle life in Britain

Several video games focus on specific parts of British life. Forza Horizon 4 lets you drive across a condensed Great Britain, and Watch Dogs: Legion offers action in London. For comedy, Thank Goodness You're Here is a slapstick game set in the fictional northern town of Barnsworth.

Other games focus on work. Landlord's Super simulates 1980s bricklaying in the Midlands, and PlateUp! lets you cook and serve dishes in a busy restaurant. If you want driving, building, or cooking mini-games, those titles do it better than LifeSim. LifeSim focuses on open conversation, relationships, and a real 3D map of every UK street.

A sample life: freshers' week in Manchester

Owen, 18, leaves a small Welsh coastal town to study at a university in Manchester. He writes his character prompt with a part-time job at a high-street bakery like Greggs. The game generates his portrait and places him on the real rainy streets of Manchester.

In his first week, Owen sets a life goal to make close friends in his flatshare. He texts his new flatmates in a group thread and plans an outing to a local pub. Later, a live music happening appears on the map, and the friends walk there together. Each person remembers the night in their journal.

School and work in the United Kingdom

In England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, teenagers take GCSE exams at 16 and A-Levels or BTECs in Sixth Form. In Scotland, students take National 5s and Scottish Highers before applying to university through UCAS. You can start your character at any age and write these exact school stages into your prompt.

For adults, the National Health Service is the largest employer in the country. Many people also work 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. office hours in finance, tech, retail, or hospitality. LifeSim has no career ladder or job performance scores, so your job shapes how coworkers talk to you.

Small towns and the British countryside

You do not have to live in London or Birmingham. Because LifeSim uses a complete map of Earth, you can live in the Cotswolds or a coastal village in Cornwall. If you prefer a quiet 1980s Shropshire village story, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a classic exploration game.

In LifeSim, rural life is about the community you build and the places you visit from the outside. You can play a sibling running a seaside chippy during busy summer bank holidays. On desktop, you can use Build mode to draw a new 3D cottage and place it in your village.

British customs and local words to use

Since you talk to people in your own words, you can use British slang in your chats and texts. Call a friend mate, ask for a cuppa, or say you are knackered after work and chuffed with good news. You can talk about spending five quid on fish and chips or a Sunday roast.

You can also play out local customs when you plan outings with friends. In traditional pubs, people walk up to the bar to order and take turns buying rounds for the group. Locals also bond by talking about the changeable weather and saying sorry when someone bumps into them.

How it works

  1. Describe your character in one text box. Name a city or town in the United Kingdom in the text.
  2. The game reads the place from your text and puts you there, on a 3D map of the real streets.
  3. Live day by day. Go to real places, meet people, and talk to them in your own words.

Questions

Can I live in any UK town in LifeSim?

Yes. The 3D map covers all of Earth, so any named British city, town, or village works. Write the place into your character prompt or search for it on the map.

Does LifeSim have driving on the left or train rides?

No. In the real UK, traffic drives on the left and commuters ride the Underground or national rail. LifeSim has no vehicles to drive or trains to ride, so you walk and search for destinations on the map.

Can I buy a house or pay rent in British pounds?

No. LifeSim does not have mortgages, rent, bills, or a formal salary system. Your cash changes through your daily activities and conversations.

Can I work for the NHS or run a local pub?

Yes. Write your job into your character box, such as an NHS nurse in Cardiff or a pub landlord in Yorkshire. There are no cooking or medical mini-games, so the focus is on your social life and daily goals.

What is a supermarket meal deal in the UK?

During standard 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workdays, many British workers buy a supermarket meal deal for lunch. It is a pre-packaged sandwich, a snack, and a drink sold together.
