MySims Cozy Bundle, explained

The MySims Cozy Bundle is one package with two old EA games: MySims (2007) and MySims Kingdom (2008). Both games first came out on the Wii. EA released the bundle on Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2024. Maxis is the developer, and Electronic Arts is the publisher.

You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a different life sim, and we say near the end where it fits and where it does not. This guide goes much deeper than the short entry in our list of Nintendo Switch life simulation games.

The Nintendo eShop page lists these key facts for the Switch version:

• Release date: November 19, 2024.
• ESRB rating: E (Everyone), with Mild Fantasy Violence.
• One player. There is no multiplayer.
• File size: 2.9 GB.
• TV mode, tabletop mode and handheld mode. Touch screen controls work in handheld mode.
• Save Data Cloud works with Nintendo Switch Online.

EA calls the two games “retro re-releases” with updated graphics. They are not new games. The story, the towns and the tasks are the same as in the originals.

Not on Switch or PC. There, the stores sell only the bundle, with both games in it. Gematsu also describes the PS5 and Xbox release as one bundle. Apple Arcade is the one exception: it has each game as a separate app.

Steam has two store pages, one for MySims and one for MySims Kingdom. But both pages show only one purchase button: “Buy MySims: Cozy Bundle.” Neither page shows a price for one game alone. The Nintendo eShop page also sells the two games as one product.

The EA store page lists the bundle from $39.99 on the EA app. The US Nintendo eShop and Steam also showed $39.99 when we checked. Gematsu reported the same price for PS5 and Xbox. Prices change, and stores often have sales. Check the Nintendo eShop page or the EA store page for today’s price.

Is the MySims Cozy Bundle in EA Play?

Yes, on PC. The Steam pages offer the bundle with an EA Play subscription as a second option. Sims Community also said that EA Play members get 10% off the PC purchase.

Yes. The bundle is now on Switch, PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Apple Arcade. The Switch version came first, and the other versions followed over the next year.

MySims Cozy Bundle on PC

The PC version came out on March 18, 2025, on the EA app, Steam and the Epic Games Store. It needs 64-bit Windows 10, 6 GB of RAM, 16 GB of free space and an internet connection for activation. Sims Community said that both games were playable on Steam Deck with small issues. Wikipedia says that EA later added Steam Deck support.

MySims Cozy Bundle on PS5 and Xbox

The bundle came to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 18, 2025. Gematsu reported that stores also sell it as a boxed copy. Push Square noted that this is the first time the two games are on PlayStation. Before this, MySims SkyHeroes was the only MySims game on a PlayStation or Xbox console.

Does the MySims Cozy Bundle work on Switch 2?

Yes. The Nintendo eShop page says “Supported” for Switch 2, and the game plays the same as on Switch. We found no Switch 2 Edition and no paid upgrade.

MySims on iPhone and Mac

Apple Arcade has MySims and MySims Kingdom as two apps. Both run on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and both work with PlayStation, Xbox and MFi controllers. You pay for Apple Arcade, and the games have no ads and no in-app purchases.

Not much. EA improved the graphics and the screen resolution, but it did not change the gameplay. Sims Community calls the result a port of the Wii games with small control changes.

These are the changes that we found in the reviews:

• Sharper textures, a higher resolution and a more detailed menu screen.
• Better hairstyles, makeup and clothes in Create a Sim.
• MySims has the extra content from the 2008 PC version. Siliconera lists six more characters, among them Alexa and Wendalyn, and a Garden that opens at Star Level 2.
• No Wii Remote. On Switch, the left stick moves a cursor like a mouse.

Are the controls bad?

Many reviewers say yes, mostly when the Switch is in the dock. Nintendo Everything said that the PC mouse controls are now “mapped entirely to the Joy-Con’s analog stick.” Siliconera wanted an option to hold one Joy-Con like a Wii Remote. EA did not add one.

In handheld mode, you can tap and drag items with your finger. Reviewers say this mode is easier. On PC, you use a mouse, like the 2008 PC version of MySims.

Create a Sim is still small. The Sims Community review counts three skin tones and four hair colors. The reviewer hoped for more choices in a new release.

Both games are about building and helping people. You talk to the people of a town, do their tasks, and build furniture and houses for them. Your Sims have no needs, so you do not feed them or send them to bed.

MySims (2007)

You move to a run-down town, and Mayor Rosalyn asks you to help. You collect Essences, such as fish, gems and flowers. Then you use them in the Workshop to make furniture from blueprints. As the town grows, its Star Level goes up and new people move in, such as Chef Gino and DJ Candy.

The game has little structure. Siliconera found it repetitive and said that it “can be more fiddly when following blueprints.”

MySims Kingdom (2008)

You become the new Wandolier and help King Roland restore his kingdom. You sail to themed islands, solve puzzles and do quests. You collect Mana to make items, furniture and house parts, and Scrolls give you new paint colors. Points that you earn open new islands.

Most reviewers like Kingdom more. It has more story and more to explore. Siliconera said that its ready-made items make building “just easier and faster.” Sims Community gave MySims 7.9/10 and Kingdom 8/10.

Note: the bundle has the Wii version of MySims Kingdom. The DS version from 2008 is a different game with a different story, and it is not in the bundle.

How long are the games?

None of the official pages or reviews that we opened gave a number of hours. Sims Community calls MySims “very long-form,” with “hours upon hours of gameplay.” Kingdom has a clear end: the credits play after you reach King Point Level 5.

Four games are not in the bundle: MySims Party, MySims Racing, MySims Agents and MySims SkyHeroes. EA has not re-released any of them. To play them, you need the old discs and the old consoles.

It is worth it if you played MySims as a child or if you want a simple, calm game. Critics gave it about 7 out of 10. Players on Steam like it more than critics do.

What critics say

• Siliconera: 7/10. It called both games “fun all-ages titles,” but it did not like the controls.
• Cubed3: 8/10. Game8: 74/100. GamingTrend: 70/100. PPE.pl: 6/10.
• OpenCritic: an average of about 70 from the top critics, with 10 reviews listed.
• Nintendo Everything: no score. It said that many newer games have “superseded” MySims, so the bundle is mostly for fans of the originals.

What players say

On Steam, players rate both games “Very Positive.” When we checked, 85% of 214 reviews for MySims were positive. For MySims Kingdom, 91% of 124 reviews were positive. On the App Store, MySims had 4.1 stars from 91 ratings.

The same points come up in many reviews. Players like the art style and the calm pace. They do not like the docked Switch controls, the small Create a Sim and the many repeated tasks. Some App Store reviewers reported crashes, and EA asked them to post details on its forum.

The bundle also sold well. Wikipedia says that it was the 19th best-selling game in the US in November 2024.

MySims is a town-building game with tasks, and The Sims is a game where you control a household’s full life. The two series share the name, but they play in different ways.

Where LifeSim fits, and where it does not

• How many hours each game takes. HowLongToBeat did not load for us, and no review that we opened gave a number.
• The exact Apple Arcade date. Wikipedia and Gematsu say November 6, 2025, but the App Store version history shows version 1.0 on October 7, 2025.
• The PS5 and Xbox prices in the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store. We did not open those store pages.
• A full list of patch notes. The EA forum pages did not load for us.
• Reddit threads. Reddit did not load for us, so the player views here come from Steam, the App Store and reviews.
• The exact MySims Racing date. Wikipedia gives both June 12 and June 16, 2009.
