The Sims 4 free real estate cheat

Go to the world map, not to a lot. Press Ctrl + Shift + C and type FreeRealEstate on. Now every empty home costs nothing. Type FreeRealEstate off when you are done.

The cheat comes with the base game. You do not need a pack. EA says that you must type it on the world or neighborhood screen.

A white box opens at the top of the screen. Type the code and press Enter. Press Esc to close the box. On a controller, press the four shoulder buttons again.

1. Make or choose a household. You can do this from Manage Households on the world map.
2. Go to the world map or the neighborhood view. Do not load a lot.
3. Open the cheat box and type FreeRealEstate on. Press Enter.
4. Look for the green outline. TheGamer and Game Rant say that empty lots get one.
5. Choose a lot and select Move Household Into Lot. The price is now zero.
6. Type FreeRealEstate off after the move, so the normal prices come back.

TheGamer says that your household keeps its money. So the starting funds pay for food, bills, and new furniture.

• It does not let you take a home where a family already lives. Game Rant says that occupied homes stay closed to you.
• It does not work in live mode or in build mode. It only works on the map screens.

The cheat helps when you want a big house for a story, or when you test a build from the Gallery. If you want a challenge, it removes the hard start.

Most failures have one of these causes.

• You typed it on a lot. EA says that it must be typed on a map screen. Save, go to the world map, and type the code there.
• A typo. FreeRealEstate is one word with no spaces. Put one space before on.
• An old version of the game. EA fixed a bug in the update of December 14, 2023. Before it, the cheat did not turn on. Update the game.
• The home is occupied. Choose an empty lot, or move the other family out first.
• A mod. A mod that changes lots or prices can block the cheat. Test the game with mods off. Our Sims 4 mods guide shows how.

The sources do not agree. The Sims Wiki lists FreeRealEstate as a basic cheat that works without testingcheats true. TheGamer and Game Rant tell you to type testingcheats true first.

On a PC, type testingcheats true first if the cheat fails. It does no harm. On a console, be careful. EA says that cheats which need testingcheats true turn off achievements and trophies in that save. Try FreeRealEstate on alone first.
