What is the skill cheat in The Sims 4?
Open the cheat box and type testingcheats true. Then type stats.set_skill_level, the name of the skill, and the level. For example, stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking 10 sets Cooking to level 10. The skill name is the hard part: Cooking is not Major_Cooking.
The code works on the Sim that you control now. The table below lists the exact name of every skill. We took the names from the skill guides on EA Help.
How do you open the cheat box on each platform?

Type stats.set_skill_level, a space, the name from the table, a space, and a level. The top level is the highest number that the skill accepts.

A pack skill works only if you own the pack. Without Get to Work, for example, the Baking code does nothing. EA writes the names in lower case on some pages and with capitals on others, such as major_acting and Major_Fishing.
What are the cheats for toddler and child skills?
Toddlers and children have their own skills. Select the young Sim first, and then type the code. A toddler has five skills, and Potty stops at level 3. A child has four skills, and each goes to level 10.

The EA toddler guide writes the longer form statistic_skill_toddler_communication. If the short name fails, try the long one. EA says that a toddler with level 5 in at least four skills gets the Top-Notch Toddler trait.
How do you max all skills at once?
The base game has no single code for all skills. You type one line per skill. A Sim with every skill at the top needs one line for each row in the table.
Type each line with the top level of that skill. Use 10 for a major skill, 5 for a minor skill, and 15 for Vampire Lore. Do not confuse this with sims.fill_all_commodities. That code fills needs, not skills.
Do skill cheats turn off achievements?
On PlayStation and Xbox, yes. EA says that codes which need testingcheats true turn off achievements and trophies in that save. Skill codes need it. Your other saves are not affected. EA does not say what happens on a PC.
Why does my skill cheat not work?
- Wrong skill name. Cooking is
Major_HomestyleCooking. Mixology isMajor_Bartending. Fitness isSkill_Fitness, not Major_Fitness. Pet Training isSkill_Dog. - Extra spaces. Two-word skills have no space inside the name:
Major_RocketScience, not “Major_Rocket Science”. The EA Cooking page shows a stray space after the underscore. Leave it out. - Major or minor. A skill with a top level of 5 often uses Minor_ or Skill_. Check the table.
- No testingcheats. Type
testingcheats truebefore the skill code. - Wrong Sim. The code changes the selected Sim. Click the right Sim first.
- Missing pack. You cannot set a skill from a pack you do not own.

Can you level skills fast without cheats?
