Sims 4 money cheats

Open the cheat box with Ctrl + Shift + C. Type motherlode and press Enter. Your household gets 50,000 Simoleons. For 1,000 Simoleons, type rosebud or kaching.

To set an exact amount, type testingcheats true first. Then type money and the number you want. All codes go in while you are in Live mode.

A white bar opens at the top of the screen. Type the code and press Enter. On a console with a keyboard and mouse, Ctrl + Shift + C also works. Press the four shoulder buttons again, or Esc, to close the bar.

motherlode adds money to what you have. If you have 20,000 and type it, you get 70,000. Type it again for another 50,000.

money replaces the balance. EA gives the example Money 145897, which makes the funds exactly 145,897. The old funds are gone. So if you type money 1000 with 80,000 in the bank, you lose 79,000.

One note: the console list on the EA page says money “adds” funds, but the EA FAQ and other guides say it sets them. Save first and check your balance after you use it.

You have two ways. Both need testingcheats true first.

• Type money and a lower number. For example, money 0 empties the account for a rags to riches story.
• Type sims.modify_funds and a minus number. sims.modify_funds -10000 takes away 10,000.

Players use this for challenges, or after they typed motherlode too many times. The first way is faster when you know the final number.

Yes. The freerealestate on cheat makes every home free. You type it in the world or neighborhood screen, not in Live mode. We cover it in its own guide: the Sims 4 free real estate cheat.

On PlayStation and Xbox, EA says that any code that needs testingcheats true turns off achievements and trophies in that save. Your other saves keep them.

By that rule, rosebud, kaching, and motherlode are safe, because they do not need testingcheats. money and sims.modify_funds need it, so they turn off achievements on a console. EA does not say what happens on a PC.

• You are not in Live mode. Money codes work in Live mode. Leave Build mode and Create a Sim first.
• You skipped testingcheats. money and sims.modify_funds need testingcheats true first.
• You left out the number. money alone does nothing. Type a space and then the amount, with no commas.
• You made a typo. It is motherlode, not “motherload”.
• The box does not open on a Mac. Try Command + Shift + C instead of Ctrl + Shift + C.

The money goes to the household that you play now. To give money to another household, switch to it first.

Yes. Hold the four shoulder buttons to open the box. Then type the same codes as on a PC.

Can I give money to only one Sim?

No. The Sims 4 keeps one account for the whole household. Every code changes that account.
