The Sims 4 Seasons guide

The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack: release date, price, weather, holidays, the gardener career, and whether it is worth buying.

Seasons is an expansion pack for The Sims 4 from June 2018. It adds four seasons, weather, and holidays on a calendar. It also adds a gardener career and the Flower Arranging skill. It changes every world that you own.

We opened the EA page of the pack and the Steam page on October 14, 2026. The facts below come from these pages, unless we name another source. We did not play the pack for this post.

The EA page gives June 21, 2018. Wikipedia and an EA press release from 2018 give June 22. The console date comes from a Sims Community report of the EA news.

No. Wikipedia says that Seasons is the only Sims 4 expansion pack with no new world. The EA page says that “every world is affected by seasons in unique ways.” Each world has its own climate.

Some posts say that Windenburg comes with Seasons. That is not correct. Windenburg is the world of Get Together, the second expansion pack, from December 2015.

The pack adds spring, summer, fall, and winter. Wikipedia lists rain, thunderstorms, snow, and cloudy or sunny skies. The temperature changes with the weather.

Clothes matter now. Sims in hot weather need light clothes, or they can overheat. In winter, they need warm clothes. Wikipedia says that fishing is not possible in winter. The Steam page says that you can also control the weather. You can call up a thunderstorm, clear the sky, or jump to another season.

Each season has its own activities. The Steam page lists these:

  • Winter: build a snow pal, make snow angels, and skate on a rink.
  • Spring: splash in the rain in a raincoat.
  • Summer: play in the sprinkler or a kiddie pool.
  • Fall: harvest honey and play in the leaves.

Children can also earn badges as scouts.

Seasons adds a calendar, and holidays come back each year. The Steam page names a New Year party, Love Day, a harvest feast, and Winterfest. At Winterfest, Sims give presents and Father Winter visits.

You can make your own holidays and choose how your Sims celebrate. Wikipedia says that each holiday has up to five traditions. You can also edit or delete holidays.

EA Help says that the gardener career comes with Seasons. It has two branches. A Floral Designer makes flower arrangements and delivers them around town. A Botanist studies plants, writes papers, and earns grants.

Floral Designers need the Flower Arranging skill. Snooty Sims says that the top ranks need levels 2 to 10 of this skill. Botanists use the Logic skill. Snooty Sims also says that your Sim can do the job at home or go to work.

To level the skills fast, read Sims 4 skills. For skill codes, read Sims 4 skill cheats.

This part is our opinion, from the store pages. Seasons is worth it if you want each year of a Sim to feel different. The weather and holidays touch every household and every world. Few packs change the whole game like this.

It is a weaker choice if you want a new town to explore, since it has none. It also adds only one career. For an active job, look at Get to Work. Compare all the packs in Sims 4 expansion packs.

  • They look for a new world in the travel menu. Seasons has none.
  • They send Sims out in the wrong clothes. Check the weather before your Sim leaves.
  • They forget the update. The EA page says that the pack needs the base game and all game updates.

If the pack does not show in your game, read how to install Sims 4 packs.

LifeSim is a free life sim in your browser set on a real map of Earth, where people talk back in your own words. It is not a Sims pack, and it does not add holidays to your Sims game. If you want a different kind of life game, read games like The Sims or try the life simulator.
