The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy guide

Royalty & Legacy is an expansion pack for The Sims 4. It came out on February 12, 2026. EA sells it for $39.99. It adds family Dynasties, a Nobility career, Scandals, sword duels, and a new world called Ondarion.

We took the facts below from the EA page of the pack. We opened it on October 14, 2026. Where a fact comes from another site, we say so.

The release date and the console list come from Sims Community and MP1st. The EA store page now shows March 17, 2026 as its date. The pack was on sale and patched on February 12, so we use that date.

Any Sim who is a Young Adult or older can start a Dynasty. You do not need to be a Noble. The Head names the Dynasty and picks a crest and a motto.

Only the Head can set the Values, buy Perks, pick the Heir, and name Outcasts. The Values are up to 3 Ideals and 3 skills. When members live by the Values, the Dynasty gains Prestige.

• Prestige has 10 levels. Each level unlocks more Perks, such as Private Tutors and traits that children inherit.
• The Heir takes over as Head. Their actions change Prestige a lot.
• Outcasts have almost no effect on Prestige.
• Unity is the average relationship between members. High Unity brings good events, such as offers of an alliance.

Nobility is an active career with 10 levels. Daily tasks include Holding Court on a Throne and Press Conferences at a Podium. You also answer Noble Mail, set Kingdom Taxes, and pass Decrees.

Your choices earn either Commoner Favor or Royal Favor. The kind of Favor changes your rule and unlocks interactions.

Other Sims may already hold the title that you want. EA calls them Noble Rivals. You can beat a Rival in three ways: diplomacy, scheming, or a sword Duel.

The EA page also lists 5 Powershifts. One is a sword in a stone, called Simcalibur. If it finds your Sim worthy, your Sim becomes Kingdom Leader. Others include kissing frogs and a ballroom dance in crystal shoes.

A secret, such as a secret child, is not a Scandal at first. Other Sims can find out. They can see it happen, hack a computer, search the trash, or ask around.

A Sim who knows the secret can expose it. Or they can use it to extort your Sim. They may ask for Simoleons, a title, or the Headship of a Dynasty.

A Scandal can cost friendships, romances, and career progress. A Noble can lose a title. To limit the damage, post an apology or a denial on a computer. A Noble can also hold a Press Conference. The Notebook tracks every Scandal.

Ondarion has three neighborhoods. Each one has its own Dynasties and Nobles.

• Verdemar: the Blacksmith sells swords, and the bar is a place for gossip.
• Dambele: an artistic area with a Community Market and the Zanbira Tree.
• Bellacorde: home of the Capp and Monty families, who return with their old feud.

The world has Secret Passageways between lots and Treasure Chests with rare items. There are 11 swords to collect, and every neighborhood has sword Tournaments. Family Trees are larger, so you can follow long family lines.

Buy it if you play long family stories, or legacy challenges. The Dynasty system gives each generation a goal. Scandals add drama that you do not have to make up yourself.

Skip it if you play one Sim for a short time. Most of the pack pays off over many generations.

KeenGamer gave it 9 out of 10. The review liked the world and the Noble career. It said that joining the career is fiddly. It also said that the Swordsmanship skill is slow to level, even at low levels.

• The pack does not show in the game. Update The Sims 4 first. EA says that the pack needs all game updates. Read how to install Sims 4 packs.
• Your Sim cannot start a Dynasty. Check the age. The Sim must be a Young Adult or older.
• Your Noble cannot rise. A Rival may hold the next title. Use diplomacy, scheming, or a Duel.
• Old mods break the new features. Remove your mods, test, then add them back one by one. Read our Sims 4 mods guide.

Yes. It needs only The Sims 4 base game with all updates.

Can my Sim become King or Queen?

Yes. The top level of the Nobility career makes your Sim the ruler. Simcalibur also makes a worthy Sim Kingdom Leader at once.
