Hours, work days, and pay by level
You work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at each level of the Lifeguard job. You pick either the Morning shift starting at 08:00 or the Evening shift starting at 17:00. Each shift lasts 4 hours, which adds up to 16 hours per week.
At level 1, CPR Dummy Stand-In, you make 33 Simoleons per hour and 528 Simoleons per week. Level 2, Wave Watcher, raises your pay to 40 Simoleons per hour and 640 Simoleons per week. Level 3, Prolific Whistler, pays 48 Simoleons per hour and 768 Simoleons per week.
You earn 0.25 paid days off per work day at level 1 and level 2. At level 3, this rate rises to 0.5 paid days off per day worked. Certain traits add to your hourly pay, such as 10% from Business Savvy or 30% from The Knowledge.
Career tracks and overmax pay
The Lifeguard career is a single part-time track and has no branches to choose between. Every Sim in this job follows the same path to the top level, Prolific Whistler, for 768 Simoleons per week. If you quit the job, the level you rejoin at drops by 1 every 2 days.
After reaching level 3, you can keep earning raises through overmax levels. Each overmax level adds 10 Simoleons to your hourly pay. You can boost your base pay further by 10% with Graduated High School Early or Graduated with Honors, or by 15% with Valedictorian.
Getting promoted faster and Lifeguard cheats
When your work performance is close to the promotion line, you have a 1% base chance for an early promotion. The Entrepreneurial trait multiplies this chance by 10, and the Growth Mindset moodlet multiplies it by 5. One additional condition in the game files also modifies this chance.
If your performance drops to the demotion line at the end of a shift, the base demotion chance is 100%. The Professional Slacker trait multiplies this chance by 0, which prevents demotion.
