Moscow sits on the Moskva River and runs at a fast, 24-hour pace. People live in apartment buildings with shared courtyards and use a Troika card to ride the grand Moscow Metro. Weekends bring walks in parks like Gorky Park or summer trips to a country dacha for shashlik.
Where to live in Moscow

Money and the cost of living in Moscow
Housing and dining costs in Moscow are highest inside the Garden Ring. The Golden Mile of Ostozhenka, Patriarch's Ponds, Khamovniki, and Arbat are the most expensive areas. Districts between the Garden Ring and the Third Ring Road, or Ramenki and Universitet, have moderate costs.
Outer residential areas near the MKAD ring road are called sleeping districts, or spalnye rayony. Neighborhoods like Mitino, Butovo, Maryino, and Vykhino offer budget-friendly housing and everyday shopping. LifeSim does not charge rent or pay a salary. Your cash changes with activities and chats.
Work and universities in Moscow
Moscow is a center for finance, information technology, telecommunications, aerospace, engineering, media, and higher education. Big employers in the city include Sberbank, Yandex, Russian Railways, Aeroflot, and Lukoil. Many people work as software developers, financial analysts, corporate managers, civil engineers, or retail workers.
Students and researchers study at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and the Higher School of Economics. To start a career in LifeSim, write your job or university into your character text. There is no career ladder or job score, and the people you meet react to your role.
A day in Moscow in LifeSim
Say you start as a 26-year-old software developer living in Zamoskvorechye. In the morning, you search the map for a cafe near the State Tretyakov Gallery and walk there. A coworker texts you to invite you for lunch near the Moscow International Business Center, and you reply in your own words.
In the afternoon, you plan an outing with two friends to Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. Later, a birthday party happening appears on the map in Basmanny, and you decide to join. The day ends with a recap of your moments, and your friends keep those memories in their journals.
Food, markets, and going out in Moscow
Classic dishes in Moscow include borscht, pelmeni meat dumplings, blini pancakes, beef stroganoff, and syrniki cheese pancakes. Georgian and Central Asian spots are also common across the city. Locals often order khachapuri cheese bread, khinkali soup dumplings, and plov.
You can search the map for food halls like Danilovsky Market near Tulskaya station, Depo FoodMall, or Usachevsky Market. For late-night dining and bars, search for Malaya Bronnaya Street at Patriarch's Ponds, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street, or Pyatnitskaya Street. Many people also meet at the bars of Kitay-Gorod along Maroseyka and Pokrovka streets.
A sample life: a student's first month in Moscow
Lena, 19, starts her first semester at Lomonosov Moscow State University during the crisp September Golden Autumn. She sets two life goals on her calendar: make three close friends and visit VDNKh and the Museum of Cosmonautics.
In week one, Lena walks to Sparrow Hills in front of the university to see the river view. She meets a classmate there, and they start a group text thread with another student from Ramenki. In week two, they plan a weekend outing to Chistye Prudy and the Winzavod art space.
By week four, the autumn air turns colder, and a house party happening appears on the map near Old Arbat Street. Lena brings an odd number of flowers for the host and talks with the guests. Everyone at the party remembers what she said the next time they text her.

Questions
Can I visit Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre in LifeSim?
Yes. The map shows the real streets of Moscow in 3D, with people walking around. You can search for Red Square, Saint Basil's Cathedral, or the Bolshoi Theatre and go there.
Can I ride the Moscow Metro or drive on the Garden Ring?
No. LifeSim does not have trains you ride or cars you drive. You search for a real station or place on the 3D map and go there directly.
Is the game in Russian?
No. LifeSim is in English only. The people in Moscow talk to you in English, and the streets and places keep their real names.
Can I go inside a Moscow apartment or a dacha?
No. Buildings on the map show from the outside only, with no rooms or interiors. You can write an apartment or a weekend dacha trip into your story and outings.
What are some local Moscow customs to know for my story?
Residents take off outdoor shoes at the entrance of a home and wear house slippers called tapochki. When you bring flowers to a host, always give an odd number of stems. On the deep metro escalators, people stand on the right and walk on the left.
